My husband, son and I went on the 8 pm tour and had a great time. It was interactive (the guide was easygoing and friendly and let our 12 year old ask as many questions as he wanted), interesting, informative, and overall a great experience....More

We enjoyed this tour so much! Our guide was very knowledgable about the city and the subject matter, and the delivery was pitched perfect. Bus was very comfortable and I cannot recommend this highly enough.

I found this tour rather interesting. Our guide showed us the spots where mobs activities once were. He also told us lots of stories, that triggered my desire to watch The Making of the Mob. And I really loved the last stop Harry Caray’s Italian...More

They talk about Holmes on the tour, but don't have the time to drive that far south. Holmes' Murder Castle was at South 63rd and Wallace in Englewood, and a US Post Office sits on that site now.

Hello and thank you for your question. There are no bathrooms on the bus. We recommend going to the bathroom before the tour begins.

We took a cab from our hotel but there seemed to be street parking. It was an evening tour and not terribly busy on the streets. Sorry this is late.

HELP - are we criss-crossing the city too much? (8 Replies)
We are leaving next week for an action-packed trip to Washington DC with two teens. I have a full itinerary but I need help understanding if we are keeping to one area - or close-by, each day so we aren't needlessly criss-crossing the city. Some days have "booked" tours (indicated by a "B") but the other things can be moved around to make travel easier. Please critique. We will be traveling by foot, metro and/or taxi. Day 1: Supreme Court, Washington Monument (B), National Mall walking...More

How are you planning to get to/from the Udvar-Hazy Museum, because it's out by Dulles Airport? If you're talking about seeing the Air and Space Museum that's on the Mall, near the Museum of American History, that's a different story?

Nope! Crime Down in Historic Core (0 Replies)
I stand corrected. Recently, I posted about a couple of dramatic crimes in the historic core. As a long-time resident, it concerned me. However, reading the Downtown News today, I see the incidents I referred to were both high-visibility exceptions. The stats are in and crime downtown continues to decline as it has over the past decade. Downtown like the rest of the city is a markedly safe place, particularly for a large metropolitan area. ladowntownnews.com/articles/2010/07/07/news/… ...More

Is it safe to walk around Inner Harbor at night?

It really depends. What are your specific plans? Basically it's a safe area. Once in a while you see a news article about some knucklehead causing problems. But generally safe. Now, if the plans involve a solo traveler getting drunk and strolling around at Midnight walking 6 blocks back to their hotel it may be a different story. So...what's the plan?
