I booked a 3-hour private tour with Kevin Doerksen in December 2019 and experienced one of the best tours I’ve ever had! Kevin’s passion for Chicago, its history and architecture is captivating and fascinating. He is a very knowledgeable, friendly and eloquent guide with a wealth of great information. Chicago very clearly has a special place in his heart and is was wonderful to get all the great insights about this amazing city.

Last week I went on my third tour in Chicago with Kevin of Wild Onion Walks. My first two tours with him had been private ones as I had specific goals in mind for researching historical novels set in the city. Last week, he led my group of 21 people on a fantastic tour that proved to be a highlight of the weekend. His knowledge is encyclopedic, his enthusiasm is contagious. He's professional, prompt, and always exceeds my expectations! I highly recommend him as a tour guide.

Kevin is a lovely person who is passionate about his home town. This really shows when he takes you to some spectacular places that you’d never find on your own or you’d just walk past because you didn’t know they were there. The 2 hours went very quickly. Thanks Kevin. I thoroughly enjoyed your tour.

We toured the Ukrainian Village - Kevin prepared an informative tour for our group of four. The Village is rich in history and Kevin's presentation was filled with interesting facts. I highly recommend Kevin.

Words cannot be found to explain how good Kevin’s Loop walking tour is. One of the best and most interesting tours I have ever been on. Kevin is so enthusiastic about the architecture and so knowledgable as well. There was only my husband and I on the tour. We never stopped and saw so much that was totally unexpected. Totally deserves a five star review. Would highly recommend to everyone

I hope that you will make a return visit and that I might have the privilege of revealing more of what makes the Second City number one!

I love to take guided walks wherever I go when visiting a new place. This tour was by far one of the best tours I've ever been on. Kevin was such a knowledgeable guide. He has lived in Chicago his whole life and you can tell he loves the city. He told us stories of different places and how they were in his childhood and now how they have changed. My husband and I were the only two on this tour, so Kevin had our undivided attention. We saw many different kinds of buildings and found out about the different blocks used to build them We also saw Tiffany stained glass dome ceilings that were unreal. If you have a chance, YOU MUST TAKE THIS WALKING TOUR. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Kevin gave us a wonderful tour of the famous Chicago Loop area. He offers a perspective that is hard to find, that is, from a native. He was able to give first-person narratives of how things "used to be" when he was a boy. We found this historic view informative and entertaining. His general knowledge of Chicago is encyclopediac.

Kevin was friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Good mix of old and new sites in the Loop. We especially liked seeing the beautiful spectacular designs. Stained glass mosaics and iron work inside the old buildings. Exceeded our expectations.

This tour was FUN and fascinating...revealing surprises and hidden treasures found in Lincoln Park and the surrounding area. (I have visited and explored this area often because my daughter lives in Lincoln Park, but this tour provided a whole new dimension to experiencing the area.) The tour guide, Kevin, is a true “explorer” of Chicago and knows the stories behind the facts...and the facts behind the stories. He shared his exploration passion with us, letting us peak over shrubbery and open hidden gates to discover the secrets. Kevin is an amazing resource for historical and cultural information and is also an astute (and patient) listener, fielding our many, many questions. This walking tour is one of the tours I've experienced!
