We met with Eileen in November and had the most wonderful afternoon. What a fabulous woman and what a wonderful city. We walked and talked for the afternoon, saw the main points of interest and lots of others not listed in our guide books. Finished with 'ponsiettas' in Macys ex Marshall and Fields while Christmas fairies sprinkled fairy dust and... More

We met Sue, promptly at the allotted time and she was brilliant from start to finish. She was keen to know our interests and tailored our tour superbly pointing out some 'joints' we'd have never had found. She was also very useful for tips on the outer districts, which helped us discover some lovely parts of Chicago

The highlight for me was the Marquette building with it's beautiful mosaics....where I worked many years ago. Joe did a great job and seemed... More

We had a great time walking around a neighborhood just outside of downtown Chicago with our guide and loved the personalized perspective we got of the very quaint area which we wouldn't have normally taken the time to visit. Highly recommend!

We were met by a very knowledgeable "greeter" - Randy - who was excellent in all aspects. He showed us all sorts of interesting things in Chicago and provided us with a lot of history. This is a wonderful service provided by some lovely dedicated people. Well worth doing! Thanks Randy!

I think this is particularly excellent if you're travelling solo, or in a small group of 2-3 people. You get a passionate volunteer who tailors your experience of Chicago - either based on location or interests. Plus you get to make a friend out of it, if you get along splendidly with your Greeter! For them to spend hours with... More

Bernadetta, our guide, was awesome! The history of African-American's in Chicago is rich! I would recommend everyone visiting Chicago to use Chicago greeters.

Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
