Because of the chilly conditions, we were the only ones on the tour. Despite that, Rick waited 10 minutes as we arrived late. He knew his material very well and had a great sense of humor. He made the tour interesting and fun. I highly...More
I booked two different tours for my high school class on the Great Chicago Fire. Our tour guide, Rick, was fabulous! He totally engaged the kids, was funny and exceedingly knowledgeable. These tour guides are worth every penny and more!! You will not be disappointed.
As usual, Dan (and Cindy Lou Who) did a great job! Lots of interesting factoids, fun holiday trivia, great pace, great stops, and lots of giveaways, snacks, and beverages. This was our second tour with Chicago’s Finest and they never disappoint.

Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of
the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
I should think it would depend on your child actually. Some kids are able to sit, listen and not disturb others at an early age - some are not. If your child can sit quietly and not disrupt the presentation, no worries!
Is Chicago's Finest River Walk Tour a dup of CAF boat tour? (5 Replies)
We definitely want to do the CAF boat tour. But we saw that this River Walk Tour is also rated highly on TA, so wondered if it would be good to do both or if the Walk Tour duplicates much what we'd see on the boat tour. We will be in Chicago for just two full days and this is our first time there. Thanks!

If you have only two days, two tours of the river area will be redundant. Pick one, and then get tickets to the musical "Eastland" for the full experience.:) If you want a second tour, try the lakefront or one of the neighborhoods. Anything from an unplanned ramble to a self-guided tour with a book (try the CAF store at 220 S. Michigan) or an organized survey via segway or bike would be preferable to repeating the river tour. Just FYI, I haven't been on the walking tour you described, but was...More
