We had a great experience with Amanda, she is a very knowledgeable and thorough guide. There are so many interesting stories and histories that are hidden in plain sight, and this tour did an amazing job of revealing artifacts, tied together in the theme of the 1890's Chicago culture.

Amanda provided a fun and educational experience. Came away with a lot of cool / interesting facts about the history of Chicago's World's Fair...now I wanna learn more. I'll definitely sign up for more of these.

Amanda is awesome! Very knowledgeable about the historical events. But the best twist was the unique venues she selects for the tour. She shares some real hidden gems. I am a Chicago native and was completely blown away by all the places I have not seen! Well, done, Amanda. Look forward to doing more tours with you in the future!

Elizabeth was our tour guide. We had locals and tourists and this tour was fantastic. A different way to see the city AND learn things you never would have known. Gives you a totally different view of the city's history. Did the Hop On Hop Off and learned a fraction of what I learned tonight on this tour. Great interaction... More

Lots of history of Chicago as well as general architectural review. See alot of things never seen unless you're a resident of downtown! It was mostly indoors, so good tour even in the winter cold and the rain!

As someone who lives in Chicago, the bar tour is super fun and informative. While I had been to a few stops on the tour already, there was a ton I didn't know. Elizabeth, the guide, is awesome and it was great to have a few moments to just chat over drinks and appetizers. If you're lucky enough to have... More

We did the architectural walking tour. Amanda was engaging and informative and had a great knowledge of the history of the buildings and those that built them. The two hours went by quickly and we enjoyed every minute.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
