I did the Pilsen tour last year and absolutely loved it. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable! When I was looking for something fun to do in January to celebrate a friend’s birthday, I thought of Walk Chicago. It’s been challenging to find things to do during the Covid shutdown, but Terry created a special downtown Art tour for us making sure to hit the highlights and practicing the right level of safety. It was a memorable time filled with lots of fun facts. I’d recommend Walk Chicago for anyone who wants a quality tour experience in a small group. They’re the best!

I am most grateful for your generous words. truly, it was my pleasure to show you public art in the Loop...an easy task given that the Loop is a virtual outdoor art museum. And even easier when tourists like you contribute enthusiasm and sincere interest. It was like being with close friends. Please come back,,,again ! Terry S.

My husband and I researched several tours of the Little Italy neighborhood of Chicago prior to our trip in early September, 2019. When we landed on Walk Chicago Tours.com, we knew we found what we were hoping for. We corresponded with Terry Sullivan, Owner of Walk Chicago Tours, via email leading up to our vacation. Terry was always prompt, answered all of our questions in depth, and he explained his way of bringing Chicago's Little Italy to life! I felt very comfortable working with him. On the day we arrived, we were walking down a picturesque street in Little Italy, and we heard someone calling my name. It was Terry! How he knew who we were on a busy city street in Chicago, is beyond me, but from that moment forward, it was like we were with an old friend visiting his neighborhood. I'm quite certain Terry has never known a stranger. As we were walking, he just chatted-up people who were walking alongside us. We learned from students, long-time residents, police officers, and so on. We felt he really brought us into the neighborhood as if we were part of it. As we were walking, we stopped and talked to five or six police officers who were gathered on a street corner. Terry introduced us and told them where we were from. When we started talking, I explained that my husband is a retired firefighter, and they all shook his hand, welcomed us, and again, it was like we were old friends! Honestly, I cannot say enough about the people of Chicago. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and approachable, but even more-so when Terry Sullivan was our guide! This guy is amazing :-D. Terry showed us where his grandfather lived after immigrating from Italy and settling in Chicago around the turn-of-the-century. He took us to a very old Sicilian Catholic church, which has a section devoted to the Czech people who shared this area of Little Italy with the Sicilians. It was very interesting. He gave us three suggestions for lunch and dinner taking us into each of these restaurants and giving us history on each one. We chose the first one he introduced to us, Tufalo's, and we were not disappointed. This restaurant is low-key and VERY authentic Italian! There are pictures of actors, sports legends, etc. who have dined there. Ask him about the story of Jack Nicholson at Tufalo's! The food is excellent, and you will want to come on an empty stomach - there is plenty of it! My husband and I have traveled quite a lot, and this is by far the very best tour we have ever taken. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about a trip to Chicago to contact Terry Sullivan at Walk Chicago Tours.com. Tell him Chuck and Brenda from Oregon sent you!

My father was raised in Old Town so our family was interested in learning more about the neighborhood. We surprised my mom on her birthday and had a girls day in the city. We met Mimi our tour guide at a convenient location and our first stop was Second City. We were able to go inside where she shared interesting information and backed it up with pictures and articles. Mimi also knew someone at the Midwest Buddhist Temple so we were able to go inside get a private tour. She was very knowledgable and you could tell she loves what she does. The company was attentive, they responded quickly and followed up when the tour was over. We will definitely use them again, Pilsen is next on our list!!!!

This was the second year we used Walk Chicago as for our high school junior class trip tour. Terry is very easy to work with, and our tour was easy to plan. He and his guides are excellent--they are engaging and so knowledgeable about the city. In the two years we have had them as our tour guides, our students have been active listeners, questioners, and shared their new learning with us. As someone else noted, this isn't a "generic spiel". The guides are wonderful raconteurs--if you like learning about things and the context based on stories, you will love the tours. They love their native or adopted city, and have learned so much about how they operate. The guides are also great in working with teenagers, who can be a daunting audience. In the two years we have worked with Walk Chicago, I have learned and seen things I haven't seen on other tours over fourteen years of coming to Chicago. The tours are reasonable in cost, and well worth the time spent. I highly recommend!

I have taken several tours with walk Chicago and they continue to be excellent! The guides work very well with my high school students, keep them engaged, and my students said that the tour was their favorite part of our field trip to Pilsen. I can't recomend them enough for anyone looking to take students. Always on time, professional, and easy to work with. I've also done private tours with them when family came to visit and experienced the same quality.
