All the brand names and labels are on this street. I didn't shop but it was a great corridor for getting to and from places around the Loop. You're never lost if you find Michigan Ave.wear comfortable shoes..

So many stores. A lot of high end stores but we found some great deals at some regular person stores (lol).

Beautiful street for expensive and not so expensive shopping. Impressive storefronts and super fancy malls in unexpected places.

If you are looking for something special, this is the place to go. Along this stretch of Michigan Ave you will find everything from Walgreens to Saks Fifth Ave. The streets are clean and adorned with beautiful flowers and landscaping. Very pleasant atmosphere for shopping. More cities could take a lesson from this area. Great job Chicago!!!!

If you go to Chicago, you have to go North Michigan avenue. Is comparable to the 5th avenue in NY!! All the famous stores plus many boutiques. Whatever you are looking for is there!!! Even for a stroll is fine!

Much nicer than the Golden Mile in Hong Kong. The shops are spacious and well laid out. The plants and flowers adorning both sides of the street help add colour and vitality! The police are lazy and eat donuts all day on the corners. The Chicago Tribune, Wrigley Building, Hancock Centre and may other buildings make Chicago the most visual... More

Just no where else like it. Just expect to have deep pockets for the city tax but Water Tower has some great sales at... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
