And lots of shops. You name it, the shop is there. Wear good walking shoes, bring your patience because it gets crowded.

There is so much to see, places to shop, photo-ops, etc. Wear great walking shoes. Sleep well the night before and expect to spend the entire day enjoying everything. Don"t miss going under the bridge and walking along the river, as well. There are tons of restaurants, so bring your appetite. The food in Chicago is delicious everywhere!

Always fun to go to Michigan Ave. It is changing a bit. They don't have all high end designers anymore. They have let some less expensive stores in. Most of the nice stores are still there. Lovely walk where you can end up at the lake. Plenty of places to eat. I like the Cheesecake Factory, because it has such... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
