Was easy to use, but wish it was cheaper to ride. $8.00 for adults. We took it for about a 20 minute ride to Navy Pier - great break from walking around so much.

My wife and I took advantage of the water taxi to go from Chinatown to Michigan Ave. Our family started using the water taxi a few years ago as an inexpensive way to avoid traffic and expensive parking downtown. Coming from Indiana we like to...More

Chicago water taxi operates its boats on a closed loop route. it is operating on the Chicago river. One of the docks location is nearby navy pier. It is fast and cost effective. The ride provide views of the sites and architecture of the city.

We used the taxi twice during our day in the city. Waited no more than 8 minutes for its arrival and it was pretty fast travel. Awesome views from the taxi on this beautiful day! The new riverfront is very impressive!

While not planned for this trip, we did take the Chicago Water Taxi and thoroughly enjoyed both the rides and the crew. We used this service to visit several sites and restaurants and can recommend this service instead of driving.

Our large family loves the Chicago water taxis. With 4 kids from ages 4-11, a traditional boat ride can be extremely expensive and many of the options are adult oriented. The water taxis are a great way to see the city from the river and...More

Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

I am going to be there Christmas and New Years. Does the river ever freeze over so they can't run the boat tours? I hope I can go in a boat tour or taxi around via the water!!

Can you stay on the taxi and enjoy the ride if you have a day pass? Or do you have to get off at each stop?

I believe your ticket takes you where you want to go. I bet you could stay on the boat and just ride around I have not tried it.
