A nice stroll

Navy pier is a place to see the great skyline of Chicago. There are restaurants on the pier and a nice place to leisurely walk. Some boat tours also leave from Navy Pier.

It's dated and it's tacky and it's touristy but so what? You can't go to the Windy City without going to Navy Pier and you'll enjoy it because it is what it says on the tin- a proper tourist attraction

We went during the early spring, seems that everything was still pretty frozen. The Ferris wheel also was not running at the time and there weren't many attractions. My spouse and I were glad to have stopped by but we will probably skip it the next time we are in Chicago.

It was snowing and 0 degrees outside so obviously, not a great deal happening. There are lots of nice, cheap food outlets, great ice cream, great pop corn and fudge if you want to fill up. There is also an IMAX cinema and lots of gift shops.

It was April and raining at navy pier. We have been to the pier many times and have had nothing but great experiences. It's very lovely and family oriented in the summer and there is a lot of things you can do, inside or outside. The day we went was raining, cloudy, and 45 degrees. Sadly, there was not much... More

We stopped by on a cold and snowy day. Most everything was closed and construction nearby made it difficult to get to. Save this for a warm summer day when everything would be open.

We walked the pier and took great pictures at the end of the pier. There is a really cool anchor at the end and you can view the lighthouse off in the distance. On the way back up the pier, head inside for the stained glass museum, which is incredible! There is great food about mid-way through. The you should... More

Navy Pier is fun to see, and the lake side cruises are pretty cool to go on (especially at night time!). However, I felt the shopping inside the pier was pretty less than stellar. Its basically just an over sized McDonald's. So, definitely go here if you have a bunch of kiddos about to go on a 1 hour cruise.... More

We visited Navy Pier in early Spring. I have also visited in the summer months and definitely recommend going in the summer. The Navy Pier comes to life in the summer months and there are lots more things to do. Navy Pier is a great experience any time of the year, but summer is best. There are great views of... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
