The Navy Pier was great. We walked around and rode on the Ferris Wheel as well as went into the Greenhouse which led us to many shops. They also have a swing ride there. There is not a whole lot to do there but It is a great thing to do when it is sunny out in Chicago.

We were riding the hop on hop off bus and made Navy Pier one of our stops. We didn't go into the children's museum or the playground opposite. We walked the pier, and checked out some of the restaurants but didn't eat. The bathrooms were modern and extremely clean. We enjoyed the availability of lots of outdoor seating where we... More

Navy Pier is full of fun things to do. On this trip we went on the Ferris wheel, Tall Ship Windy, and ate at Bubba Gump. Navy Pier is usually a good time, but very expensive.

Make sure you go on Saturday and take a boat ride at night and watch the fireworks. Make sure you go early if you want to ride the enormous ferris wheel

We walked from Michigan ave and it was about 30 minutes but it was a nice day. The last time we were here was about 20 years ago so a lot has changed since then . There is a lot to do with families including a Ferris wheel. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops but mostly for souvenir stuff .... More

We walked from our hotel to the Navy Pier on a cool summer day. Very windy on the Pier, but nice viewing and great for pictures. Ate at Harry Carey's--food was very good.

Wanted this to be so much more... Was really just a mall on a pier with half rate shops. I'm told that the Shakespeare theatre is awesome, but we didn't get a chance to do this. Overall, a snooze fest.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
