I experienced the Pier in winter so may not be the best judge here but for the most part everything felt closed or unfinished. There wasn't much to do other than eat and the staff seemed to be aimlessly wandering about. I did manage to book tickets for a river tour, which was excellent, so I guess it has that... More

I'm not sure why so many people love the Navy pier. This is not my favorite attraction in Chicago by far. I guess it just isn't my type of attraction. No one in my group felt it was very impressive. The only reason I returned was because the other people in my group had never been and I assumed that... More

We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon walking around the pier taking in the stunning views of both the lake and the city. With the sun shining, it was amazing! There were a few fast food restaurants and places to drink scattered along the walkway. Definitely worth a visit in Chicago!

We met my son and his high school band he was directing at the Navy Pier this weekend. Although cool, it was a sunny day and it was nice to walk along the water and see the pretty View. The ferris wheel was working but nothing else was open outside. There are some touristy shops inside as well as several... More

Great time on the pier. We walked a lot and seen the great view of the city. We also seen a Irish band playing . Then we enjoyed a great meal at Bubba Gumps. It was really a great day. The ferries wheel was a great time. With wonderful views.

Perfect lake view even in a cloud day. It's a super nice place, you can go to eat in different restaurants, walk around and watch the lake, enjoy the big wheel and take a lot of beautiful and awesome pictures. At the Navy Pier entrance you can have fun with 2 or 4 in funny Seesaw, that when you're playing... More

It was my sister's birthday trip and we visited Chicago for the weekend. We planned to visit the museum and also navy pier on the same day. Weather was great and very quiet on the pier. Good memories

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
