We walked from our hotel in the city through the gardens along the waters edge to this wonderful Navy Pier. What a great use of docklands for tourists and locals. River and bay cruises, lovely eats, entertainment for children and just a lovely area to work around. Wish we had been there in the evening. Great idea by council that... More

We visited Navy Pier this past weekend and we had a good time. We went a little later in the evening after dinner, so I'd suggest going earlier so you can see all that it has to offer when it's still kind of light out. I think we missed out on things because it was so late when we got... More

Commercialized shops and restaurants. Would likely be a fun activity destination for children. Great benches available for viewing lake activities.

I enjoy going to Navy Pier to people watch (mostly) and to try out different drinks and foods around the pier. Even though we are not kids, we enjoy going on the flying swings and ferris wheel! I wanted to comment on the new Ferris Wheel. I am a fan of the old original one! Only your party was allowed... More

I feel like there is so much to be said about Navy Pier because it's just enormous. There is literally something for everyone there, and I feel like if you don't find something fun, you can't be pleased. The food/ restaurant selection is great, and you can sit indoors or outdoors everywhere you go. The Centennial Ferris Wheel was so... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
