At the end of a business trip I treated myself to a signature massage at The Wit. It was wonderful. Very relaxing and also eased lots of tension in my body. Jana was a calm and solid presence. The hot stones are a lovely feature of their signature massage. Staff was welcoming and locker room worked well for a shower before heading off to the next part of my trip. I hope to be back!

I had an exceptional facial provided by Gregory Johnson. He was beyond meticulous when it came to my skin and provided a custom experience for me. So relaxing and I left feeling like a million bucks!

I had a signature massage with Jana yesterday. She was very thorough and went above and beyond to tackle the target areas I mentioned. I enjoyed my experience except for the sound of the nearby construction. I wish I had been informed at the time of booking or called.

I don’t typically splurge on this kind of experience but my partner and I wanted something special for our anniversary. I had called in advance to ask about add-on treatments to the massage, they described a few and I was psyched.

Then when the day came we arrived 20 minutes early (as per instruction). We were greeted by Yuelma (so polite and nice!!) and went into our separate locker rooms. My partner peaked his head out of the door because his locker wasn’t locking. The code mechanism wasn’t working so all you had to do was press the key to unlock it. We weren’t extremely concerned about theft but it’s not ideal for relaxing when you know your stuff isn’t secure.

His “slippers” (they were rubber sandals, it was weird how the signs kept referring to them as slippers) were the exact same size as mine. I’m a size 7 women’s, he’s a size 13 men’s. His did NOT fit but we shrugged and met our massage therapists. Anastasia and Valerie were AMAZING. These ladies are great at their jobs. They should be the managers off you ask us.

We had opted in for aroma therapy, paraffin wax treatment on hands and feet, and eye treatment. The aroma therapy started at the beginning of the massage and throughout which makes total sense.
The paraffin took place during the massage. The way the menu is structured (and because I paid for 80 minutes) made it seem as though it would take place at the end (and in addition to our massage) instead of taking time from our session.

Ultimately it felt like we were charged more to have less of a massage. Our massage therapists did an amazing job, but if they’re given an 80 minute time period and have to squeeze in time to do the add ons, it isn’t really possible to receive an 80 minute massage.

When we got our I filled out a comment card (the front desk person said we weren’t alone, other people had been confused about this too) and I was very clear that our experience with the staff was fantastic but the structure of the add-ons wasn’t clear or fair in the treatment forms we completed. Mariana at the desk was very helpful at t

These were add-ons in price only. They were subtractions from the time we paid for that was meant to be a massage. I have NO problem with the tip being included. They deserve a tip for doing such a good job considering it seems like they’re not being given the structure within the spa to do a full 80 minute massage.

I called to confirm that this problem has come up before or to see if we missed some fine print. The spa manager said no, and ”it doesn’t take a lot of time out” and that was that. I wasn’t expecting a weeping apology or anything but that was a SUPER dismissive phone call. it was an opportunity for them to ask me what would’ve made it more clear but they asked me no questions and the call was over.

Won’t come back. Won’t recommend to friends. Hugely regret thinking this was the place to try to relax (that touts a luxurious atmosphere scoffing at snobbery)

tl;dr
- kind staff, misleading treatments, extra money for less massage, rubber sandals, broken locker, rude manager.

Good Morning Lindsey, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We greatly appreciate this as we use your information to better the overall guest experience. I deeply apologize that this was your experience with us. Our staff takes great pride in the work they do with each and every guest and we regret to hear that these things interrupted your time of relaxation here. In regards to the locker and the slippers, both are being looked into and we are seeking out larger sized options to accommodate for our guests in the future. The service enhancements are not meant to take away from your service and are integrated at a time in which it best flows with each service protocol. We will be looking into the way the enhancements are timed into each service and will discuss with our staff accordingly. Again, our sincerest apologies that this was your overall experience. We will reach out to further discuss this with you in order to find the best resolution. We look forward to speaking with you and hope that you will come to see us someday in the future. With Much Gratitude!

Had a good massage but the Whisper Room was set up very strangely with somewhat uncomfortable lounge chairs with curtains dividing them. The ambiance felt really uncomfortable.

Gregory’s experience, knowledge, and expertise as it relates to skin is the best I’ve had. He is truly at the top of his game. He understands the skincare needs of his clients and will recommend the appropriate products you will need at home. I am very pleased and will be returning soon. Adrienne B

I was disappointed in my experience compared to what I paid to be here.

I am a regular at the spa, and I can be a snob about it, but I was willing to try this one because it was close to where I was staying and I just wanted something to take my mind off of life for a bit.

I did have a great massage (signature massage).

My facial was disappointed. The technique was not relaxing and I just felt like that aesthetican's fingers were slopping around on my face. It just reminded me that my regular aesthetician is really the best!!

Gregory's knowledge, expertise, great energy and professionalism second to none in the city. I have had facials at the Peninsula, Loews, Four Seasons and East Bank Club all in Chicago. He know his products a huge asset to the Wit Spa. The front desk also very professional and great vortex of positive energy. I continue to go back even the other places are closer for me.
