One of the best places in Chicago if you are looking for real blues. They generally have one show at around 9, but they usually keep playing until very late. The only downside is that they don't take reservations, and this is quite problematic for big groups. In fact, during weekend nights, tables usually fill up by 7pm. However, they... More

Buddy Guy's Legends is just steps away from the Magnificent Mile - so quite easy to find in a safe district of Chicago. There's no charge to enter if it is before the featured artist of the day. There's lot of pictures and autographed guitars to admire. The showcase is not well lit however, maybe use the flashlight feature on... More

Interesting place. It's like a 50's diner, but try to get there during a live performance. That's the best thing about this place. You don't go there for the food, although the catfish is good. The nachos are not so great.

Had a great time at Legends. The service was great and the music was awesome. The gumbo was excellent. We had an extra treat as Buddy Guy showed up and played a few songs. Would deffinitley go there again if I make it back to Chicago.

Great blues, fun atmosphere. This club was so fun! We also had dinner here and the food was pretty good. The emcee let us know that empty spots at your table would be taken as the place filled. That sounds a little off putting but ended up giving you a chance to interact with new people and I loved it

Visited buddy's last year as part of going to see the Chicago blues festival. Some superb performances and got to see Booker T. Good choice of menu and highly recommend the Gumbo which was delicious. Great food in a great venue.

Buddy Guy's Lengends is a great venue for listening to Blue's! All of the acts were top rate, and we ended up spending about 4 hours here listening to three different acts. We were able to get a seat at the back bar, which was perfect for not being in the crowed, but having a great vantage point. The beer... More

I'm a born and raised Chicagoan, but I went to Buddy Guys for the first time this year. I had no idea they were really playing the blues. My Dad grew up in the deep South and "The Blues" is a way of life!! I grew up hearing the Blues and it was soothing to my soul to actually hear... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
