Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.

Catch a January show before he's gone.
Catching Buddy Guy's January residence in his own club is a bucket list item for a blues fan. It was great to see him in a small venue. Don't argue about the price, just do it. Decent upgraded bar food with good beer selection but the hard booze cocktails are pricy. The service is awesome as it is all run by his family and friends. Ivan Singh is a relatively new blues guitarist from Argentina who has become one of Buddy's protegees like Kingfish Ingram and Quinn Sullivan. Two great acts on one cold Chicago winter night really heated up the evening.

    Legendary!
Ab amazing place! We were there on a Monday, Mary Lane was playing and the band were amazing. A very diverse crowd there from Tokyo, Dublin, Maine and Vancouver. At only 15$ entrance, it is absolutely worth every cent. Great vibes, great dancing and a,really cool space The toilets were wonderfully, sparklingly clean ( I would not normally mention toilets in a,review but these were just pristine) This was the highlight of our trip to Chicago! Thank you!

Excellent Blues and food at Buddy Guy's
Love this place! We arrived in time to see part of the last set of the 5 pm band, had a delicious catfish dinner and then enjoyed the sweet sounds of Smily Tilman's band. Buddy Guy himself made an appearance which was icing on the cake!

    Buddy's House
Went before showtime but were treated to a jazz combo performance at no extra cost. Was frisked upon entry. A decent sized place and the dinner was fairly good and none too expensive. Tickets that night were only $15 but left before showtime even though was told that Buddy might make an appearance. But he is on tour! Was well worth the effort to go and 5 stars just because it is Buddy.

    One word: wow!
Amazing experience with the most genuine blues you could think of. We went on a slow Sunday but once we entered we knew we’ve come to the right place. Big shoutout to Travis Ried!

Disclaimer: I have been to this joint several times. We went to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary on Monday night because: a) it was our anniversary b) the Buddy Guy's Legends Monday night jam is the best music value I have seen anywhere in the US. $10 gets you in the door to see Brother John Kattke lead the Legends House Band for a 60+ minute set, followed by local musicians. This is a continuation of the Checker Board Lounge's Monday Blues Jam from back in the day. Last night was a Fat Tuesday New Orleans blues evening, but about 80 minus into it, the MC, Robert, introduces the owner of the establishment, Buddy Guy, who comes on and performs with Brother John for another 30 minutes!!! Pictures, social media posts, autographs, drinks for the house, you are damn right it was Buddy Guy! Half the audience was from South America.

After first seeing Buddy Guy in the UK more than 30 years ago so it was great to finally make it here. My one reservation was that it would be an overpriced tourist trap; however I'm pleased to say that it's the real deal.

I arrived around 7pm so there was no line (or cover charge) but the place was already filling up and happily I got one of the last available tables.

It's a good sized venue with a large stage area, nevertheless I was impressed at how intimate it was. Matt Hendricks was the opening act the night I went and he put on a great show. hearing an authentic blues singer in a legendary setting can't be beat. There was a $10 cover charge to hear the main band from 9pm which seemed very reasonable.

The menu offers is good solid bar food at surprisingly reasonable prices. Fine dinining it aint but the burger I had was as good as any in Chicago. There's also a really good selection of beers.

Really wish I could get there in January and see the man himself.

Just saw Buddy 1-16-20. What an Incredible time! It was Awe-insiring to see Buddy at his own club, it is an intimate club with efficient, friendly staff. Music was out of this world Great!!!
If you want a table, you'll need to get there about noonish for a 9:00 show. We got there at 6:00pm and it was standing room only at that time but where we were standing, it was a great place to watch the show. It was like seeing Buddy in his own living room, telling jokes and singing the blues!

We went to buddy guys to enjoy the music. The night started out with 7 people. As the night progressed there was only 3 of us left. We were enjoying the music. The wait staff was great. No issues. Only 10 or so people in the whole club. We we're minding our Own business. Out of nowhere a club representative very aggressively came at is telling us we were in the aisle blocking traffic. There was none around us. We quickly moved out of the way as we had no idea, but this guy was not having it. He got all in our face. We immediately saw other security guards coming by us, we said we'd like to cash out and leave right away. He was still jawing at us. We asked the waitress to cash us out as fast as we could. Our wait staff was kind of shocked at what happened as we were good customers all night and apologized. We are still dumbfounded as to what happened. Would never go back.

The wait is killing me! Open! Open! Open...!
Legend’s is my place of retreat where I travel from Sacramento,California to Chicago at least three times a year. The atmosphere filled with such awesome jazz performances capped with a dinner experience eating such delicious New Orleans cuisine makes for an unforgettable evening. I can hardly wait for it to re-open. I’ve even booked a stay nearby at the end of May 2021 in anticipation. Open! Open! Open...!

Amazing night with a fabulous band, which were so good that Buddy, yes the man himself, got up on stage to sing with them.
It blew us away.
The club has well appointed tables so all can see with great sound and a dance area. Service was brilliant and the prices were really reasonable (a lot cheaper than most pubs)
Wish we had eaten there as the food looked scrummy too.
Best night of our holidays. Thanks Buddy

This was a great night of real music, grounded in just a plain love of blues culture. We were lucky enough to see Buddy himself but the general experience of all musicians was worth it. We saw the amazing Kate Moss in lead guitar, Smiley Tillman, and met his awesome son Warren “Wazza” Tillman. I hope this place goes on forever!

We went there for one of Buddy's annual January shows. Of course he put on a wonderful show, but the music memorabilia that adorns the entire bar is worth a visit in itself.Take the time to tour the back hall, the upstairs, and the display cases. I will say that we found the food and drinks to be reasonably priced for such a downtown tourist destination. If you're a Blues fan, Legends has to be on your bucket list.

Met my brother for his 50th birthday celebration to enjoy some good jazz. Venue is pretty basic, but overall quite nice. Both acts were outstanding, and we got a little impromptu session from the Legend himself - very funny and engaging. I would definitely go back if I wanted good live music in a comfortable atmosphere.

Music great. Drinks good. Buddy guy. Amazing……….his handlers and security suck. Rude. Pushy. Buddy was done with his $25 picture taking session after performing and I didn’t feel like bugging him or getting too close or in his way. I took a picture of his back from about 15’ away just to brag to a Buddy that I caught him at the club. As I begin to walk away back to my table I was pretty much tackled by his security and he rips my phone out of my hands demanding I delete it. He could have just asked politely. Honestly ruined the evening for me.
