Great Aquarium

This is a really beautiful aquarium with a wide variety of interesting habitats. I really enjoyed the Amazon and American river exhibits and the special Amphibians exhibit. I'm a little uncomfortable with cetaceans in captivity but they seem to have done their best to give them space. The "4D" movie experience is a bit silly, but it was surprising and... More

We went first thing in the morning and saw most everything in a few hours. Fun for kids and adults. I'd skip the live show with the dolphins unless you have kids...that part was a little cheesy with a lot of trivia and movie clips. Loved getting to see beluga whales for the first time!

Nice place to visit during the Chicago winter months. Had a blast there with the family. Took the subway from Rosemont, which made the trip all the more interesting and scenic.

We are members of the NC aquarium, and they honored our membership, although we did have to pay for tickets to the animal show and the "4D" movies. They have good exhibits related to lake fish and mammals, which were different from the sea animal exhibits we get in NC. This was fun. They also had penguins, which my daughter... More

We loved our visit to the Shedd Aquariam. I would only say I find it a bit expensive, and would love to see a family price. We stayed most of the day and if you're lucky, sit outside for lunch to enjoy the city view. You can stay almost all day at the aquarium, so it's well worth it!

This is a must see & do if you go to Chicago. We have been to different aquariums and this is one of the best. it has a very modern feel and is very user friendly. On thing you have to do is find out when the Beluga whale training is done. We just sort of stumbled in on it... More

This aquarium entertained us on a rainy and cold day and we spent around 3-3.5 hours here. I think it's expensive for what you get. The 4D movie (sea creatures) sucked. It was made too long ago, is shown in an older style theatre where the height between the rows isn't enough for someone shorter to sit behind a tall... More

The Aquarium is nice and well maintained, but I was slightly disappointed, as I expected it to be bigger, and more modern. Compared to aquariums in Atlanta or Minneapolis it was quite small, but still an enjoyable visit for a rainy day.
