The aquarium itself is nice, though very crowded. Other than that, I have no complaints. I like aquariums in general. There are shows but we didn't go to any. Though it is very close to Adler Planetarium and Field Museum, it didn't offer much benefit...More

Love, Love, Love Shedd Aquarium! My favorite is the Oceanarium and the Aquatic show! Make sure you visit Nickel in the Caribbean Reef! We have a Membership and have been coming here since I was a little girl, now my daughter is enthralled! It never...More

Both times I have visited there were very long lines. We stood in line longer than we were inside. First thing to know is there is a General Admission price option of $8 for adults, they do not have it listed. The GA doesn't get...More

Thank you for visiting Shedd and for your feedback. While the general admission does include great exhibits such as Amazon Rising, Waters of the World and our Caribbean Reef, our Total Experience Pass also includes exhibits such as Wild Reef, Amphibians, the Oceanarium (with dolphins,...More

We visited Shedd Acquarium on a Monday morning. Entry didn't take much time. This is an amazing place, especially for kids. We were surprised to see long line for entry by the time we were leaving. It is much better if you reach there early...More

We bought the All-Access pass, but I think it's better off to skip the high cost and just pay general admission. All of the displays were neat looking, but I was disappointed by the over-abundance of fresh water fish and the lack of saltwater. The...More

Thanks for your trip to Shedd! We're so glad that you got to see the aquatic show. The show is meant to highlight the connection between humans and animals, while also giving you a glimpse at the animals' natural behaviors. However, we're sorry if you...More

We love this place. First time for my 10 year old daughter! She's been to Orlando/SeaWorld but the sights at the aquarium.. never a dull moment. Great half day activity.

GET YOUR TICKETS FROM THE WEBSITE!!!!!!! We arrived at 1000am on a Tuesday morning and waited 40 minutes just to get to the bottom of the stairs. This meant about one more hour to go. We decided to buy the tickets online while in line...More

Thanks for your trip to Shedd! We do apologize for the wait. Our staff does its best to get everyone inside as quickly as possible without overcrowding the aquarium (we have building capacity limits), but we understand it can be frustrating. The CityPass is a...More

We were fortunate enough to have purchased the Chicago City pass and highly recommend it to anyone who is in town for several days. Had we not had it, the day we went there was an hour line to get in (mainly bc they check...More

South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of
activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you
happen to visit during football season, you may bump
into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears
game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the
flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and
educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and
aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park

Best to get an uber as they are readily available. Valet parking is the way to go if you are driving.
