On our way to Lighthouse Beach, we stopped at this attraction in Princess Cays. There are signs coming in/out of town that point you back into a residential part where Ocean Hole appears. The area around and the gazebo were a bit run down and...More

This place is awesome! Our tour guides (Colleen and Lewis) explained it to us. It is soooo beautiful. They said the hole is 600 feet deep and feeds off into the ocean. They explained that you can swim in it, but you cannot fish in...More

Wow, Amazing, so there is this "Lake" over 100M in diameter, dark water, slightly salty, deep blue and not really brackish, a set of steps built down to the water, with a ladder to climb out... Stepping back to the side is a parking area,...More

If you like to jump from various heights, 5 to 20 or so feet, you will have a blast. 600 foot deep hole, jump in and enjoy the warm water and the swim. A good many fish to follow around if you snorkel as well....More

We all enjoyed Ocean Hole, jumping off the ledges into the water. Grandchildren aged 7-16 all had fun.

We brought the kids and looked at the fish and even got in and swam. There are a few small cliffs to jump off of, with clean and clear water waiting below.

Ocean Hole is one of the few attractions marked on the island. The water was murky and not much visibility, but we did see a lot of fish at the dock and my son was delighted! Sadly, we picked up a lot of trash that...More

Attractions (18 Replies)
As we plan for our October visit, I am making a list of "must see" spots on the island. Today I came across a recent review that advised staying away from Ocean Hole due to locals begging for money. Can anyone tell me if this is accurate, and if the same may be true of other locations that we should avoid? Begging does make me feel uncomfortable. We spent a week on Harbour Island last year and never encountered any begging. We try to give back to the community by spending money at the stores...More

We have not been to Ocean Hole lately, but I have never encountered begging anywhere on Eleuthera. The locals are proud and independant, and begging would be out of character. Attractions are mostly the beaches, like Lighthouse Beach and French Leave. If it is wavy you could try and find your way down to Surfer's Beach but the road is a challenge. Most tourists don't go to Spanish Wells but it is a very interesting community. Go to Elvina's at night to see the night life. Hatchett Bay and...More

Trip Report April 10-24 at Tropical Heights (9 Replies)
We arrived at GHB on Continental via Ft. Lauderdale on time and without any problems at all. We cleared customs in about 5 minutes and Isreal Johnson, the caretaker for our rental house, was waiting for us with our rental car. The car was a well used but very reliable and comfortable KIA suv. We followed Mr. Johnson to the Shell station in town for groceries and then to the liquor store before heading to Tropical Heights. We decided on Tropical Heights after seeing the website and talking...More
