My son chose Curtis Orchard for his bday party. So much fun and very afordable to rent a space. We rented two time slots to allow for plenty of time. The kids ran around, did all of the activities and played with the adorable kittens and still didn't want to leave. You are able to purchase donuts, cider, food and tokens. They make it so convenient! Lexi was there to help from beginning to end. She met me the day of and assisted me with purchasing extras for the party and checked on us throughout. We even gathered a bunch of people together from the party and took a wagon ride! Would definitely recommend and will consider having another party there. Great job everyone!

It is a lovely place to bring the family. It has a lot of activities for children, of all ages.
The cafe is charming. The food good. The staff friendly and attentive. The mums are beautiful, the selection of pumpkins grand and the apples enticing.

I do think, however the donuts are overcooked. They should be brought out of the oil a tad earlier, because they are very brown, and more cinnamon added to the recipe. And, if the customer wishes, served warm not cold.

I live about 45 miles away from Curtis Orchard but really didn't discover it until my daughter had my first grandchild. She lived about 45 miles the other way and we met in the middle at the Orchard for my grandson's first visit. Since then going to Curtis Orchard is a MUST HAVE in the fall - we have been going for nine years now!! They have evolved over the years from a plain orchard and pumpkin patch to a fun and accessible destination. They offer pumpkins already picked to choose from in the front OR you can walk back to the patch, pulling the provided wagons, and pick out one for yourself. The walk is fun, and the kids love roaming around the patch (yes, she added a granddaughter a few years later). Once the perfect pumpkin is located, the kids love to "wash" it off in the provided troughs of water. Then the fun begins for Grandma - they have a lovely store with lots of cooking accessories, kids items, decorative items and the best thing of all - home made apple/cinnamon donuts! They have a cafe that has expanded in the last few years with a great food menu. I love the BBQ. They have home made pies, cobblers, caramel apples. You can eat these things there or you can take them home. I think I made three trips over this year and got the donuts and pies (those come either baked or frozen to be baked at a later time) for everyone in the family. For the kids, on the weekends, they offer a large play area, petting zoo, pony rides, balloon slides and bouncy houses...I'm sure I missed something because the kids love to play and are all over the place. They also offer a hayride that is totally safe. They go through the orchards, out to the pumpkin patch and back and that is also a must have. This year I found out something I didn't know - that they offer guided trips for schools. I went over with the grandkids classes to visit and got a behind the scenes look at how the apples are harvested, washed and pressed for cider, as well as a great presentation on how bees are a vital part of the apple's life. I can't say enough good about the Orchard. I haven't ever tried to pick the apples as I always pick up a bag of honeycrisp that they have picked and are for sale in the gift shop, but I know that is available. We look forward to our trip there every year and will definitely be going back. Best pumpkin patch in Central Illinois!

The best time to go is in late September when the leaves are turning and the weather is bearable. This place has lots of great apple items and plenty of pumpkins, apples, and other seasonal items for kids to touch and purchase.

Seemed like smaller children would be have more fun. I did like we didn't need to walk very far to get our pumpkins or apples!

My husband and I visited with our Toddler in August and it was an OK place to spend an hour or so, but most of the activities available are for children who are a bit older. It has a very nice country-themed gift shop, and the apple doughnuts were a tasty guilty pleasure

For the second year my family and I went to Curtis Orchard for the tractor ride, apple-picking, and to grab some pumpkins. We arrived at 1:30, bought a $25 wrist band for our daughter and some additional tokens and preceded to the large, inflatable pumpkin. Within minutes of my 6-year-old starting to play it began to rain. It rained so hard, in fact, that we were forced into the gift shop. While there we purchased a large amount of souvenirs. As the rain was not subsiding, we decided to leave.

At five we returned when the rain was gone to try and salvage the outing. We used our tokens to take a tractor ride, but all the kids events (bouncy house, catapult/air cannon, slides) were already shutdown. We were also told that we could not go out to pick apples. We purchased a half dozen pumpkins, a peck of apples, and assorted other gifts/toys/decorations and went to checkout. Previously, after we had returned, one of the employees stated that we should ask for a rain check on our bracelet since we didn’t get to use it due to the weather. However, when we asked at checkout we were told “no”. We spent a lot of money in the gift shop and on food in a short amount of time and yet we were denied a rain check in something that their own employee said was available. Even tho it is only $25 I am a fairly disappointed at this response.

Next year, we will probably still go to the Orchard, but I will buy all our pumpkins, apples, taffy apples, candy, lunch, gifts, and other decorations somewhere else at a much lower cost.

I’d like to support local business but not if they don’t support their customers.

If you're visiting Champaign during the autumn season, I insist you make time to stop by this orchard. It's a great place for a family trip or a cute afternoon date. There's a corn maze, goat petting zoo, apple picking and of course, the beloved pumpkin patch. Stop by the cafeteria for some donuts apple juice.

They have gotten way too commercial. Plus, their prices for tours for school children have gotten ridiculous. It is NOT the cost of the products like apples and pumpkins that disturb me. It is the added aggravation of the sippy cups for juice and the tour fee. Mrs. Curtis was charming as she explained about the bees and and showed the children the machinery used to sort and make the cider back in the old days.(45 mins,) -20 years ago! Then the children would frolic through the patch and see all the apples. Now it is all about the $$. Pony Rides, Bouncy Houses, Mazes, and More are all at the front of the property now with added fees. It is not a pumpkin patch "experience" anymore. Sad about that!
I have been there at least 45-50 times. No more.
