The village of Lon Ton (also spelled as Lone Ton or Lôndôn...) is a great base to explore the Indawgyi lake. There is a fantastic education Center with great coffee and views on the lake. There are 2 guest houses - one with a/c rooms. There are several local restaurants with good food (don’t forget to ask one of them for pancakes for breakfast they are delicious). The education Center organises boat trips on the lake, rents bicycles, organises hikes, trips to watch birds and many more. It’s 4 hours from Myitkyina by car - well worth a visit, highly recommended !!
