Clearly the highlight of our trip to Venice!
Jan 2020 • Couples
I can definitely recommend a visit to the enchanting villa Godi - Palladio’s first - and after visiting quite a few villas in the Veneto in these last two weeks I still keep thinking of this one. For me, it was the perfect size - exquisitely furnished with the most stunning frescoes and magnificent chandeliers. And the views from the villa just breathtaking.....I would love to be able to wake up to such views every morning! I think what also meant most to us was that despite the fact that the villa was closed at this time being Winter, the very charming owner made an exception (we were flying halfway round the world of course!) and opened his doors to us, even to the extent of very kindly arranging transport to and from Thiene - we shall never forget this. Thank you for granting us a glimpse into your world! Like I said, this visit was indeed one of the highlights of our trip - i can well understand why it is used for weddings and such functions - a truly magnificent setting!

Remote buth worth the trip
Sep 2018 • Couples
This is the first villa by Palladio and a beautiful one. Though lacking the grandeur of other villas the location and the wonderful gardens compensate for this. Everything is well maintaned and the frescoes are in good condition.
Close by is the Villa Piovene, also worth a visit.

Lovely!

If you happen to be in the area, this is a lovely villa and the views are beautiful. There is decent parking and the guided tour was informative, but the main focus is the frescoes, if this is not your interest, skip this villa.

Gorgeous Palladian Villa
Jan 2017 • Couples
This is one of Palladio's earliest villas so his exterior style was still developing. However, the end result is striking. The positioning in the hills lends to wonderful panoramas, and the grounds are meticulously maintained. The interior of the villa is exceptionally beautiful, with well kept frescoes and furniture. One of the best Palladian villas to visit, and deserving of the UNESCO World Heritage certification.

Simply amazing!

I was here for a wedding and can't recommend the place enough. Whether you are just wanting to visit to take in the historic and beautiful sights or to eat, this place nails it on both counts. The food is simply outstanding and it's well worth trying their restaurant if you're visiting. Stunning views over the lake and villages below. Inside the fresco's are beautiful too.

An early Palladio villa design
Apr 2015 • Couples
Employing some of the features that became his hallmarks (classical elements and symmetry) in this early work, Palladio achieved an impressive result, but at least from the outside, it isn't as pleasing as his later commissions. The interior rooms, though, are mostly wonderful.

Wonderful!

I spent a whole day at the Villa because I was invited to a wedding. This is the ultimate location for a romantic ceremony. Villa Godi is beautiful and very well kept. It is sober and classy at the same time and the beautifully kept garden has an amazing view on the hills close to Vicenza. Perfection!

This Villa is a must on your next trip to Vicenza
Oct 2013 • Family
Seeing this Villa in the distance is amazing but actually visiting it is a wonderful experience. The beautiful Villa in the most beautiful part of Northern Italy and is a must for any fan of the Architect Andrea Palladio. The Villa is loving maintained and gives the visitor an insight into life in Italy hundreds of years ago. A visit to the Villa is a must.
