We stopped to see the spot where Evel Kneivel attempted his jump across the canyon. The hill is visible from miles around. It's a little out of the way to get too, and it's a short hike up. A sign below provides a brief history. Look up the video online before you go to help you appreciate the site more.

If you are a Knievel fan, you will love it. Our grandson really enjoyed seeing where he was going to jump and reading all the information about it. Worth the drive!

Followed the gps until we got to a dirt road that had 2 locked gates that were blocking the way. I didn't feel like walking the rest of the way as I couldn't see the site from where we had to stop.

Only visible from afar at the Perrine Bridge park - still for those of us old enough to remember this dare devil and his attempt at jumping the Snake River Canyon, it was fun. Kind of a "been there done that" and "checking this off my bucket list" place.

This site made a wonderful turning point on my hike up the canyon from Shoshone Falls on the Centennial Trail.

This is a place that is disappearing into history. Not many remember Evil, let alone the attempted Snake River jump. Its interesting...however. the canyon scenic walk is facinating.

My husband and I walked the path from the Shoshone Falls park to see the jump site. Though it is just a big hill of dirt, there is a commemorative sign, and my husband was giddy being able to see it and climb to the top. The path from the park was part of the fun, but this is a great trek if you are an Evel Knievel fan.

You can drive up pretty close to the mound of dirt. It wasn't anything spectacular though. I guess I kind of expected more.

Not much to see other than a plaque and the hill that has the original ramp. The best part is seeing the canyon.

It's a nice level path from the visitors center to this ramp, go to the other side of the ramp it's easier to walk up and look down and out to see what this daredevil attempted.
Go on YouTube to watch the jump!
