we had a good yet challenging time playing the White Cloud course. The layout takes you from the valley floor to the top of the surrounding hills with spectacular views of the resort, Ketchum and My Baldy. We recommend you review the course layout prior to play as a good drive down the middle of the fairway may result in a lost ball! This is a shotmakers layout - a long drive may not be the answer on many holes. You can do what we did and play it once with a supply go old golf balls ignoring the number of lost balls. It is worth the investment you will be rewarded with some of the best views in town.

We skied for three days (March 1-3) at Bald Mountain, sticking to the intermediate runs. It had been a mild winter and there was little snow except on the runs themselves, and no snow fell while we were there. So the conditions were not ideal, although they did a good job of grooming what they had on the Warm Springs side. We enjoyed the blue and green trails in that area (Greyhawk and Challenger lifts) very much. We ventured over to the River Run side once and came down the trail called Olympic, but were disappointed to see grass sticking up through the little snow that was there. Riding up the River Run lift there was no snow underneath. So we went back to Warm Springs and stayed there. Lift lines were nonexistent which was great. They do have lift attendants scanning your ticket all day. There are convenient restrooms in Warm Springs Lodge at the bottom (with attendants keeping them clean constantly) and also in the Lookout Restaurant at the top, no stairs needed to access them. This mountain is not as high in elevation as many resorts in the Rockies, so it’s not quite as strenuous to ski here for those of us more accustomed to sea level.

This mountain is beautiful and has tons of great runs if you like steep blues and blacks. DO NOT ski/snowboard here unless you are comfortable with steep runs! If you are a beginner go to Dollar Mountain 10 mins away.

Icy mountain. Steep greens and blues. Not much for novice skiers here. I have never been to a highly regarded ski area with less snow in late February. Their marketing is so excellent that you would never be alerted to the fact that this ski mountain is short on good snow conditions. However the town and Sun Valley ski lodge are fantastic!

They are very good at making snow and keeping the slopes groomed and skiable despite a total lack of new snow. I skied green and blue runs and some sidetracks without snowmaking equipment were getting bare patches. Staff and crew very friendly and helpful all around.
