My family and I did a whitewater river trip with Middle Fork River Tours in July of 2011, and I cannot say enough about the company, the geographic location and the feelings it gave each of us. The river guides were extremely knowledgeable, the meals were unbelievable, the river was both exciting and serene, and - best of all - there was no connectivity whatsoever! It was a true getaway in every sense! Every night we slept in a different location as we moved downriver.
My favorite memory of that vacation was the night my two teenage sons and I slept directly under the stars instead of inside our tents. The night sky was INCREDIBLE! It seemed as if I could touch the stars! Though it was chilly at night (I slept with a wool hat) I slept so deeply, and awoke in the morning to the snorting of horses a few feet away from us, behind the nearby fence. They were saying "good morning"!
If you like the outdoors, group trips, great food, camping out, but being pampered (the guides set up your tent for you each night) and the joys of not having a cell phone, email access and internet connectivity, this is the trip for you!!

We had such a great time during our July 20th trip! Family and friends together for six days with guides who were all unique and so much fun to be with. Add to the great water, all the history and stories the guides knew we learned a lot about the middle fork. Food was wonderful, something different every day and always a lot of fruit and veggies!
We had a blast with the ‘duckies’ and side adventures. A couple of favorites were the hot springs waterfall, hiking up to waterfall off the cliff, hot springs and fly fishing. Education and patience from Erin for two days of fly fishing was a major highlight for us. The amount of beautiful rainbow trout we caught was only because of his expertise. Helping me with my casting (hello, it’s for you) and his knowledge of the correct fly’s added to our joy of the catch and release of the trout!
Would recommend this trip and the middle fork river tours to anyone looking for a fun adventure— the scenery is so special being in the wilderness

I've been wanting to do this trip for years. Finally booked the June 8th, high water trip. It was an action packed and exciting trip and i was glad to be with such knowledgable people. I can't say enough about how wonderful Clint, Molly, and all the guides were on and off the river. They have thought of everything, yet were continuously thinking about how they could continue to improve guest's experiences. I was so impressed with the dutch oven meals and the fact that we had fresh salads with every lunch. I hope I get a chance to do the Middle Fork again, and if I do, i'll definitely be going with Middle Fork River Tours.

Middle Fork River Tours, owned by the Frank Family has provided repeatedly great experiences for us ten years in a row. We have been hooked by the MIddle Fork of the Salmon River these ten years and addicted to the wonderful menus and cooking provided by Clint & Molly Frank and guide crews. Words cannot do justice to the magnificent Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness in central Idaho. If clean water trips your trigger, this is the ride of your life. Five or six days on the river, camp pitched when you arrive each afternoon, smiling guides, open bar while guides cook for you. My wife Jane is in heaven while on these trips. Early season trips may well feature high and fast water with spring snow melt. July and later water levels drop some, water clears up completely while the rapids become more technical. Class III & IV rapids make for an exciting trip. Paddle if you want, or just hold on for a great ride, that choice is yours.
We enjoy the guest mix, reuniting with more repeat guests while meeting new guests as well.

Clint, Molly and the rest provided our family another amazing trip. They were wonderful in accommodating a wide variety of needs, including food sensitivities, infirm seniors, and highly inquisitive children. Friendly, fun, knowledgeable, helpful, I could go on. We’ll be saving up for our next trip. Be ready for river rapids, hot springs, wetsuits for cold days, scrambles up to see petroglyphs, and some geology and history of the Middle Fork river. The kayaking was great, too, but be ready to get dumped out just in case. And sitting around the campfire afterwards with drinks and conversation while the guides fix dinner can’t be overstated.

Middle Fork River Tours delivered a trip of a lifetime. A highly organized and professional outfitter, the trip was simply spectacular. The owners - Clint & Molly, along with the entire staff do a terrific job through and through. I would highly recommend choosing MFRT for your rafting trip...have fun on the river!

Over 40 years ago my brother, sister, dad and I went down the middle fork and I remember that as being one of the best times I have ever had. This year my 2 brothers and I went down the middle fork again. It was incredible and much better than our earlier trip. The guides were so skilled and entertaining. The food was way beyond anything I expected. The scenery was amazing. It has been a couple of weeks since our trip and I am still thinking about all I experienced. Thank you Clint and Molly for an experience I will never forget.

I'd give this trip and MFRT a 10 if I could. Everything was exceptional. We had great weather which helps for sure and the landscape was over the top. Each and everyone of the guide staff was energetic and passionate about the river and guiding. All interesting and fun people. Concern for safety was paramount and never did we feel at risk. These guys know what they are doing. Equipment was in great shape. To top it off, the food was fantastic-creative and most enjoyable to eat with friends in the great outdoors. Also lots of salads and vegetables-more than I have had on any other trip. Put this trip on your bucket list and MFRT is the outfitter to use. Will do again for sure!

My wife, son, brother and his family, and two other families just completed a 6 day, 5 night adventure down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Clint & Molly Frank's people were absolutely fantastic and just plain fun to be with. They were also very professional and skilled boatman's in navigating the exciting runs of this river. (I always felt safe with them regardless the magnitude of the rapids.) The meals they put on every day were reason enough to select Middle Fork River Tours. Better than what you get in many restaurants let alone out in the wilds of Idaho. This is a "buck list" must do trip and Middle Fork River Tours is the company to do it with!

To see our great outdoors as few have was truely great! My wife and I have done two other rivers and think the middle fork is a fantastic experience. This coupled with an outstanding group of people that want your experience to be the best. From Clint and Molly and all their preperations to the guides,who were fantastic,knowledgable and personable. They are a smooth seamless operation, leaving nothing to chance. As stated the food was great and the equiptment was top notch.. The trip was very senic, exciting, great fishing and fantastic wildlife viewing. I will be on this trip again.
