Our family recently completed the Main Salmon trip with Rocky Mountain River Tours and it was fantastic. Our kids (10 and 14) were a bit nervous about camping for a whole week and a little scared that the rapids would be too adventours for them. By the last day they were both begging to stay longer and to paddle the rapids in one of the kayaks. All of the logistics were great, the food was amazing, the scenery was stunning and the activities were a blast. Our kids quickly made friends and we enjoyed getting to know the other parents and grandparents on the trip.
By far the very best part of this trip was the guides. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond each day to make sure we were safe, comfortable and having fun. I especially appreciated that three of our six guides were women. It was awesome for my 10 year old daughter to have such amazing role models on this trip. They really inspired her to get out of her comfort zone and now she loves kayaking.

This is a gorgeous river and canyon with great whitewater that is perfect for rafts, paddle boats or kayaks. The rapids are big enough to be challenging but not life threatening. We have run western rivers with a group of friends for 25 year using commercial outfitters, and Rocky is as good if not better than any of them. Loved how they sent the barge ahead to setup camp and tents, and large river bags that made breaking camp a breeze. The Dutch oven cooking was outstanding. The crew was informative and fun and they took care of our every need. And of course they knew how to row.

We have done multi-day trips white water rafting. That said, going with Rocky Mountain River tours was a outstanding experience. Their flexibility with the trip was unique, food was amazing, guide personalities are outstanding along with their work ethic and enthusiasm! We had a blast! We were on the 6 day River of No Return. Look no further for a company in this area and go with em! We where in 5 states including Montana and saw bear, big horn sheep, river otters here in their absolute natural habitat!

This river trip exceeded our expectations! Everything from the adventures on the water, hiking, hot springs, delicious meals, and beach games... so much fun for our family! The river guides were professional, knowledgeable, and great entertainers. Krista helped us arrange it all seamlessly! We are excited to go again next year.

Unparalleled! From the the pre-trip information, to Jared's quick response to additional questions, we headed into this trip with a feeling of comfort. Every single guide made sure we felt completely safe, knew what to expect and were professional, kind, funny, genuine and very hard working! The food was 5 star. The gear was clean and upscale. The history and geological talks by the guides were educational and fascinating. And, the fishing was incredible! I had been down the Middle Fork before, but NEVER like this. I'll be back and only with RMRT for sure! As with any service business, the staff that take care of you are the true difference makers and the Rocky guys and gals are the BEST in the business. Thanks Rocky Team!

Six days on the middle fork with this outfitter is a must. Jared and staff are on top of it and keep you email informed all the way up to D-Day. The guides we had made the trip easy and memorable. Book earlier than later to catch the better/higher water. Of the several outfitters available I would highly recommend RMRT.

Jonathan and Phillip said it all so I have little to add. I will simply highlight that it was a fantastic trip and the guides were superb in their skill and caring for everyone on the trip. And did I mention the fantastic food! I highly recommend Rocky Mountain River Tours for you next rafting trip.

An absolute trip of a lifetime. There’s not enough space here to write what truly needs to be said for this company. From the booking to the bus ride back to Stanley, the trip was absolutely amazing. Did the middle fork the first trip of the season. The guides took care of everything and made the paddle one of the greatest adventures of my life. I don’t think you could find anyone better and plan to go back with the same company next time I go to Idaho.

We did the middle fork of the Salmon River beginning on July 1. This was an absolutely amazing trip. The river and the Frank Church Wilderness area were absolutely stunning. Our guides were first rate. They made all of us feel special and I now consider them all good friends. The food they prepared was exceptional. I don't think I have eaten so well on a vacation. Their knowledge of rafting and the history of the area was incredible. You can easily see that they love working for this great company. We can't wait to bring more of our family and friends on another rafting trip with this company.

Our group of 24 spent 4 days and 4 nights on the Main Salmon River, and it was superb. Well organized, wonderful guides, plenty of rapids, and excellent food and drink. The combination of three types of boats gave everyone a chance to try different modes, from large rafts to 2-person kayaks. I don't hand out a "5" without a great experience, and this was one of them.

Yes. We have a recommended age of 10+ on the Middle Fork and 6+ on the Salmon River of No Return. This is not set in stone as we take each of our client's needs into consideration. Give us a call to explore the possibilities.
