The permanent exhibits cover aspects of mining, logging and local history which are well done. Even our friend who never likes museums toured carefully and lingered. The most enjoyable exhibit for us, as we've already visited many mining and logging museums, was the temporary exhibit...More

Many small towns have museums but most can’t compare with Sandpoint’s. Displays are magnificent. Several rooms in the 1976 two story building relate the story of the area’s development. They cover logging, mining, farming, steamboats, native Americans and more. Most interesting is the coming of...More

Museum provides a fantastic view of early life in Sandpoint and the Pacific Northwest, especially this history of the logging and railroad industry. A great place to visit when wet and cold weather requires you to go to plan B.

I enjoyed visiting this history museum; however, be aware it's quite small and parts require climbing stairs. This is a must see if you're interested in local history.

This is a small and nice museum which shows you lots of things about the history of standpoint. I just wished that the explanations were more clear when it came to the displayed robots and a few other sections.

I think it is fine for all age groups. My 7-18 grandchildren really enjoyed it. I think very small children would even find it interesting . I hope this helps ;)
