We rented a Pantoon boat( life jackets supplied) for the day. Could not ask for better service, a top notch craft, beautiful clean lake to swim in and explore.Lake was calm and not congested with to many water crafts. If you are looking for a relaxing ,quality family time - pack a lunch and head off to a day at the lake.Reasonable rental fees. We had a fantastic day!

We come just for the lake and town experience at least 4-5 times a summer. (From Spokane) Bring the Hibachi, Umrella, Towels! Love to walk the sandy beach, snack shack is usually open (we love the snow cones), public bathroom, life guards on watch (most of the time). FAMILY beach atmosphere and GORGEOUS mountains surrounding the lake. Downtown area has lots of cafes and shops. Even a Starbucks not far from the beach =) Free parking

My family and I came from Michigan and were staying at the Seasons in Sandpoint. I saw a flyer for boat rentals and called them to check prices and availability. They were so friendly and booked us for the very next day! Our excursion on Lake Pend Orielle was amazing and when the day was coming to an end, we came back to Bottle Bay and had dinner right there on the water! We already booked another boat for this August, the family loved it so much!

Booked our boat, got a call from the owner the power was out could I come later. Arrived at 1pm to get our boat, owner stated there was no compensation for the power outage as I could still ski till 9 pm. But he would give me a ski to use. WHAT????? Had the boat for 3 1/2 days and was charged for 4. The owners were rude and only wanted my money didn't care that they had inconvenienced me. Not to mention this place being really hard to find. Our boat was not what was promised and dirty. Gas gauge didn't work. So how were we supposed to know when it was empty? Wish some of the locals had warned me I wouldn't have wasted my time.

Came back home only find they had billed me an addition $600.00. Couldn't believe I had to deal with these people AGAIN! Called and was refunded my money two weeks later. Then received a berating email from the owner. I hope they don't think I will ever come back this is the worst customer service I'd ever gotten. NEVER GOING BACK!!! And I am more than happy to warn others. Vacations are too short to deal with this crap.

We rented boats for the July 4th weekend and had a terrible experience with the owner and his employees. He was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I've never dealt with such an unprofessional comapny before. Their boat broke down and instead of taking responsibilty they accused us of damaging their boat and drinking. Never before have I ever experienced such bad customer service. The situation seemed unreal and we are currently contesting the charge on our credit card due to the fact that we lost half of the day on the 4th. They are cheap but you get what you pay for.

We were part of a group (3 families) that were stopping in Sandpoint for a day. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful day by renting some Seadoos. The person (I believe he was the owner) was so obnoxious it was hard to believe what was happening. For whatever reason, he decided to 'go off' on a tirade - he was clearly convinced that we were going to ruin his Seadoos - because we had previous experience driving these types of watercrafts. I believe it was his wife that finally told him to stop - clearly she also thought he was being excessively rude and disparaging. Not sure why this fellow is in the business he is in - worst experience ever.

Wanted to reserve a boat for my family visit at the end of this month. Have spent the last 4 days leaving messages on the answering machine with ZERO returned calls. Additionally, one time that we did get a person answer they said "Hello"--we had to ask if this was the boat rental place..."Yes"...then a disconnect. Needless to say, we have taken our business elsewhere...phone answered right away and very professionally.

Take our experience for what it is worth.

Do not rent from this company! I made a reservation a month in advance to rent a pontoon boat, and when my party (12 people) drove out to the rental company the day of the reservation, we were told that they didn't have a boat for us because their large pontoon boat had crashed two weeks before. When I asked why we hadn't been notified when the accident happened, or at least before driving several hours that morning, the receptionist had a pathetic apology and no explanation. The receptionist herself has no idea what quality customer service is and seems to have absolutely no clue how to effectively communicate with customers. She was able to refer us to an alternate marina for which she had no phone number, and no directions, only a name, which turned out to be incorrect. I asked to be put in contact with the manager, who never bothered to call me back. The receptionist was probably the most frustrating person I've ever had to deal with, and the overall service and professionalism of this company is ridiculous and completely unsatisfactory. Save yourself the trouble and rent from Sandpoint Marine and Motorsports instead.

We recently rented a Pontoon boat from A Day On The Lake rentals at Bottle Bay Resort and Marina in Sagle, ID near Sandpoint on Lake Pend Orielle. It was a last minute rental the day before and when we called they only had a really large boat available. We were a party of only 2 adults plus a dog, so it was way more boat than we needed, but since it was a holiday week (over the 4th) we were happy to get a boat so we booked it. Next I will tell you that this place is a little hard to find and do not rely on your phone as their is no service out there! We found it, but did get a little turned around. When we arrived at the tiny little rental office it was pretty chaotic, lots of people arriving for their rentals. We had to wait way longer than we thought we would have to. Upon completing our paperwork we found that they had switched us into a smaller boat, which was no problem for us....but they still ran my credit card for the larger boat. It was a $50 plus tax rental difference. I spoke up and they acted very irritated that I wanted to be charged for the correct boat, however they did correct the transaction. To their credit, I do not think they were trying to rip us off, I think they just were busy and flustered and hadn't kept really good track of who got what and it was a hassle to re-run the whole transaction. They keep their records on paper and the whole process was very unorganized. So why do you ask do I give them 4 stars...... because all the hassle was worth it. The boat was in very good condition. It is obvious that they take pride in keeping care of them. We have rented other boats on vacation and we have never received the quality of boat operation instruction that the boat crew did here. We loved being out on the water in Lake Pend Orielle! It was a wonderful day on the water and well worth the money. Upon return the crew quickly ties up your boat, refuels, and lets you know how much you owe for fuel. And then you are on your way. Despite the rough start with the billing, I would not hesitate to rent from them again!

Our family stayed at Bottle Bay Resort for a week in 3 cabins. We rented a pontoon, a ski boat, and a kayak for a day each. Terrific experience. They are located right at the marina which is down the hill from the cabins. We had not only our great experience but saw how they handled other renters as well while we relaxed on the waterfront breach. They were very careful making sure of safety and providing careful instruction with a short test drive to make sure we understood how to handle the boats and recommended lake areas for what we hoped to do. Very professional and they obviously care about the well being of their customers, the beautiful lake and their equipment.
