My friend who lives in Sandpoint took us up to Schweitzer Mountain today. We're here in summer, so no skiing. Shops were open and there is plenty of things to do. There are hiking trails and you can mountain bike. The views of the lake...More

This is a wonderful ski resort- there is a bus that takes you up to the top of the mountain in winter if you prefer not to drive up but the road is well plowed. There are many runs here and lots of lifts- the...More

The people here make you feel like family. There are lots of children who learn to ski with their parents. Very family friendly mountain.

Located just outside the beautiful city of Sandpoint in the panhandle of Idaho, this place is a hidden gem. The closest airport is Spokane, Washington. Quick car ride (1.5 hours) to the city. I chose this place because of the location (never been to Idaho...More

We are renting a home at the base of Schweitzer for the school year, and decided to get the "never on Saturday" season tickets. They are a good value... The mountain had great snow this season, so everyone was happy on the mountain. There is...More

This resort has a small time feel with big time features. We skied during the week and there were zero lines for the lift. The trees were well spaced in many places. I would recommend this as an advanced skier's mountain. The 'green' runs are...More

Sweet mountain, especially if there is fresh snow. Lots of terrain to ski with variable ability limits. Friendly people and staff. We went on busy weekend and could still find some peace and quite out there. I want to go back.

Great area with something for every level. Small village at the base and a good amount of lodging right at the mountain. Nice lodges with decent food. Lines aren't too bad, even on a holiday weekend. Good snow, can be foggy.

Is there a reasonably priced shuttle service from the Spokane Airport to Schweitzer? I'm finding shuttles for $250 one way - too expensive. Would prefer not to rent a car, but that may be the most reasonably priced option.

Question: Are lift lines reasonable at Schweitzer during the week between Christmas and New Year's? (In the past we went to Whistler in mid-February but due to kids' school schedules we will have to go between Christmas & New Year's for the 16/17 season and I'm looking for a ski area that will have manageable crowds during that week.) Thank you so much!! Chris Flaat Redmond, WA
