We didn't actually soak in the springs, but hiked up early in the morning before the crowds (or at least more people). Loved the hike, especially with fall colors. The pools looked appealing, maybe next time...

I told my BF it felt like 4 miles UP and 2.5 miles down. It is only 2.5 up but wow what an incline. Well worth it, but come prepared, shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks, hat, and of course a swim suit. It was...More

We went on a Thursday and found the place with no trouble. FYI, there is a restroom just at the trail head. We are in our 60's. It's a strenuous hike, but worth it. Pack in lots of water and maybe use a treking pole....More

Any review we've read has made the hike up seem so much more difficult than it actually was. It was a pretty cold day so that made breathing a bit hard but the hike itself isn't too strenuous. There were only about eight people when...More

Good hike up to the spring. Go there early to avoid the crowd and heat. There are great views from the different soaking pools.

Driving south from Salmon you pass mile 282; right after that the entrance to a ranch and IMMEDIATELY an unmarked road--no sign whatsoever other than DEAD END. Turn in and you'll see parked cars; this will tell you right away how crowded it will be...More

I haven't been there in the winter, but my sister lived in Salmon long enough to go there many, many times. She says the trail is very well marked and passable 365 days a year.
