Lake Monger is a small, shallow freshwater lake enclosed within a nature reserve and is very conveniently located just a few km from downtown Perth. There is a well-maintained walking/bike track of about 4 km that circles the lake. Not surprisingly it is excellent place...More

You only have to see the numbers of people that use this scenic track right on the Monger Lake wetlands sanctuary and the freeway north- to know it is a Perth exercise destination.

Walking here sometimes I've seen turtles. Other times the Swans and or ducks with their ducklings. The paths and jettys are taken care of no problems. Can have a picnic to and watch the swans swim by.

This place is excellent for a good flat run on the 3.5km track around the lake. If you want more elevation I would recommend running alongside Cottesloe beach.

My fabulously intelligent and beautiful friend Emily and I visited this local attraction and I must say we had a very pleasant time. I'll probably make the time to train here for my next marathon in the coming weeks!

Catch the Joondalup line train from Perth and alight at Leederville station. Walk about ten minutes east along Grantham Street and you will be there. Enjoy and take a drink with you.

I suspect re-creating a natural habitat would attract Swans. Other than that check out the WA government Parks and Wildlife website which may provide your answer.
