Torn. Torn, torn, torn opinion. This market is so beautiful, in a pretty and historic university town right in the middle of the incredibly unique Palouse region--and is very accessible with plenty of area parking. But... It is such a hipster, groovy beauty pageant by 98% of all the patrons and venders. And, no one seems to be happy. Fashionably aloof is the best way to describe the crowd. And there are no bargains here, either, like you find in Saturday markets in Central WA. Just people wanting to ooze, schmooze, and be seen. And what few hot food options they do have are priced accordingly for the euro spenders...

The Moscow Farmers Market is the largest farmers market in the area. There are 3 rows of vendors and farmers available with goods for sale. Some of the farmers are great to buy from and you can taste the difference between what they sell you and what you get in the grocery store. Just be careful though, there are some vendors that try to pass as local and their produce IS NOT! Ask the vendor where the produce is from before you buy it.
What is at the market depends on the season. I look forward to the spring and getting fresh flowers, including lavender.
There is also a fresh, mini donut vendor that has been at the market the last couple of years. Keep an eye out for them and try out at least a half dozen mini donuts to warm you up on a cool, saturday morning.

This is one of the best Farmer's Market we have ever experienced, and we have seen many in our country. It may be a small town, but the market is huge, and it is not just about food products. The entire region comes to sell their goods: vegetables, meats, art, and freshly prepared food of all kinds. You will meet such wonderful people of all ages as well.

This is truly a must! My wife and I have been to many farmers markets, but the Moscow market is by far the best we've ever been to.

Many factors contribute to making Moscow's Farmer's Market popular and enduring. The produce vendors consistently bring quality fruits & vegetables and friendly, charming personalities. The arts & crafts vendors present a great variety of works. The music and entertainment are good and the organizers make time to include children's groups and other organizations that make it feel like Moscow is everyone's community. In the end, it is Moscow's unique university town environment and the commitment of the local citizenry to maintaining its motto of being Heart of the Arts, that makes the market such a success.

We have visited various farmers' markets around the country. This is the most fun. Outstanding produce from Idaho & Washington state is available. The peaches are incredible! Much of the produce is organic and reasonably priced. All types of fruit and vegetables are available as well as eggs, cheeses, lamb and various trinkets. Food stands fill in along with music. The market is on Saturday mornings and ends at 1:00. Get there early to get the best produce. It can sell out fast. Oh, the produce items are extremely large in size. They are amazing to view.

Spent several hours on a hot summer Saturday morning wandering the 4-block market area in downtown Moscow. Lots of fresh produce, baked goods and farm products. Plenty of seating available and some pleasant music provided. Vendors and customers enjoyed a pleasant environment. Fresh fruit beverages to beat the heat. Vendors were in the closed-off street so sidewalks and local merchants were still easily available. Most vendors were still there with available fresh foods at the 1 pm closing time.

Went here when visiting the U of I. There's a great variety from beverages, art, crafts, handmade soaps, food and finally actual farm produce. So many of these events have left farm produce behind for baked good and crafts it's nice to see some real, honest to goodness produce. Purchased produce, fabulous lipbalm, wonderful Kombucha and food. Yum.

Thank you for your interest in the Moscow Farmers Market. The Market runs every Saturday from May through October and is located on Main Street in Moscow, Idaho in the USA. Unfortunately this falls outside of your planned trip in March. The Winter Market at the 1912 Center features a number of vendors from the Moscow Farmers Market. The final Winter Market date this season is March 4, 2017. If you have any additional questions about the Moscow Farmers Market you can reach the Arts Department at 208.883.7036.
