Great trip on the St. Joe in September 2020! Kyle is a patient and very knowledgeable guide, and we ended up catching upwards of 40 beautiful cutts. I picked up a few things I didn't know, and my buddy (very new to fly-fishing) did very well with Kyle's tips. Lunch was great as well, along with the nice blend of float and wade fishing. We happened to fish on one of the smokiest days of the fire season, so we got some really cool pics with the shrouded sun. The ONLY less-than-perfect part of the entire trip was that the fly reels definitely need some TLC. I had to keep a close eye on the drags and reset them throughout the float, as they wouldn't hold a setting and kept loosening every 2-3 fish. One of the reels fell off the rod when first picked up. Again, just some regular attention and maintenance would eliminate the only issue we had, which was minor in the scheme of things. Overall, and incredible trip!…

We had a truly wonderful day on the St. Joe! Tyler and his team were really great to work with and pulled together an amazing day on the river. We caught lots of beautiful cutthroat trout and the ahi tuna tacos were amazing for lunch! He did a great job balancing one serious and one relaxed fisher in the same boat. Highly recommended!…

They provided a delicious lunch. The shrimp wraps were excellent. We would highly recommend White Pine Outfitters. Thank you!…

Have been coming to White Pine since moving to Pullman a few years back. In the beginning I thought the Palouse was kind of limited in terms of fishing opportunities compared to all the rivers and lakes back on the coast. But Tyler busted out a pile of maps right there at the register and showed my buddy and I tons of different rivers for trout and steelhead as well as a couple ice fishing spots. We buy all of our outdoors gear there now. The secondhand gear there is a steal, perfect for a college student on a budget to get rigged up. He was able to order a couple of brand new Redington fly rod and reel combos for us as well when we scraped together some spending money. We finally got to get out flyfishing for cutts on the St. Joe with him in late July and knocked em dead. Perfect little drift boat setup and all food and gear provided, all top notch. We had a heck of a time and will definitely be back for some steelhead adventures!…

Went for a day trip fly fishing on the St Joe River. Highly recommended to anyone regardless of experience level. I'm a greenhorn and managed to catch a few fish, including my first ever on a fly. You are guaranteed to learn a few (dozen) things from Tyler and the guides: casting, techniques, river ecology, history, etc. They are flexible - you can choose the time you put in, preferred time to be off the river, what you want for lunch, snacks, and drinks. The only things you need to provide are comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and bug spray. The rest (rods, reels, tackles, knot tying, food, snack, drink, etc.) are all included. If you have any questions, stop into their store in downtown Moscow. You won't be disappointed with your day on the water - don't overthink it, book now and have a great time!…
