This is a great little museum for all ages. Staff was knowledgable and shared details of the Butch Cassidy robbery here. I love the fact virtually everything in the bank is still original. We had fun putting on the jail costumes for photos taken ‘behind bars.’ Gift shop items are very unique and fun, including a cool Zippo lighter that looks like a bar of gold. We spent about 40 minutes visiting the museum and give it a high recommend.

Wanted to break up our trip from Jackson, WY to Salt Lake City, UT and found this museum. Wanted to see the last bank robbed by Butch Cassidy and his Wild Bunch Gang. The original bank vault door is still there. There are a lot of pictures of the gang and all kind of information on Butch’s life. There is even a replica of a jail you can stand in and take pictures as if you were locked up. They even have a small gift section.

If you are in the area, it’s a fun way to spend about a half hour and see this museum. It is very informative.

This was closed "due to rain" when visited, which was disappointing because this was one of our main stops, but I am still giving it 4 stars because it is still worth stopping at if you are in the area. There are some fun exhibits outside the bank where you can pose for photos, and you can see most of the bank through the huge windows. I wish it had been open, then probably would have been a five star review, but still worth the stop.

It’s a bargain. Informative on the butch cassidy robbery. Excellent view of the original safe. A welcoming docent that was well informed. A fun place to see a jail cell of the time. Real cute souvenirs. I think kids would like it. Cowboy fans also. Even accountants.

Owner is very friendly and obviously passionate about his museum!! This is still a work in progress, but is still very cool. Learned things we did not know about Butch Cassidy. Also loved that he saved this bank and is turning into this museum!

This a great little stop. The staff was very knowledgeable and eager to share information with us. They have a nice collection of items and even a jail cell with costumes for some great pics!

Interesting place, had known the story about Butch Cassidy and the robbery but this is the first time to see the museum. Takes a max. of 20 minutes, you can buy all types of items that are throughout the building. Only been in Montpelier a couple of times prior.

Wasn't planning on stopping but glad I did. Was great to learn some history about Butch Cassidy and learning this was the last bank Butch and his gang robbed. Cool stuff to read and I definitely had to buy some shirts before leaving. Owner is very nice and knowledgeable and worth a good chat.

Super nice staff and very well advertised, but there just isn't too much to see. Free to get in, there is only about 10 minutes worth of reason to stop. The story is a simple one, perhaps as the museum grows they will add more information about Butch Cassidy, his history and fate. Cute photo opps for kids outside and a geocache if you're into that.

Yes, Butch Cassidy and the boys came through and robbed this very bank. They got the money and left town. OK. The more important and interesting place is up the street and around the corner to the Oregon Trail Center. The neat thing is that this bank building has been kept without being torn down for 'urban renewal'. Just over the next mountain is the site of Preston and the infamous native American massacre where Col. Conner killed hundreds of folks to make a name for himself.
