We have rented from Cheap Thrills as a group for the past seven years and this has been the worst experience, we will not return. The new owner lacks customer service and integrity. Three jet skis for a one day rental, one no longer had oil and the amount of fuel to refuel was ridiculous; these machines are old and need to be cycled out of service. We approached staff with these issues, the owner eluded we were at fault, blamed their young adult employee for giving us the wrong information but than followed up with a comment that they will credit the rental account for loss time with the one jet ski BUT the next day changed their mind, gave a lesser credit to the rental account and said we should check the oil – we are now at fault. NO renter should check the oil to any machine rental, do I check the car I rented for oil before I drive off? No! To the owner, I highly recommend you work on integrity and customer service, stop blaming the customers for the business you purchased with machines that need to be replaced. Kindness and honesty go along way.

We made the reservations for a family rental of snow machines a month before Presidents Day weekend. Gave them the credit card and was told the reservation was confirmed. After traveling almost 200 miles we showed up at the appropriate time to find the office area packed. Waited for about 10 minutes in line only to be told that they had no record of any reservation. They could not find the confirmation even using the number we had. No apologies, no satisfaction.

My wife, sister, brother in law and I rented two double snowmobiles with one trailer for an overnight trip to Burgdorf Hot Springs. We were pleased with the experience with Cheap Thrills. They have very nice snowmobiles and associated winter clothing. We were treated well by Peggy, Mike and Chuck. The orientation was thorough and we enjoyed visiting with Chuck when we returned from our overnight trip.

'Cheap thrills' will get you a thrill alright! My sister's first snowmobiling accident ended in being life flighted. She decided to get back on the snowmobile saddle and rented a snowmobile from cheap thrills for the Burgdorf trail. On the way back, her snowmobile was acting up, and then flames started to gust out of the left of the hood, by her feet. Thankfully she moved her foot before her leg caught fire, and reacted quickly by hitting the kill switch. She and her daughter leaped off the machine. They tried kicking snow to lessen the flames, but it was pointless. The machine roared into 🔥 quickly. This was traumatic to say the least, being her second time with a major snowmobile defect. When returning to the cheap thrills rental office, the first thing out of the owners mouth was "you must have left the parking break on." When it should have been "are you ok?!" Or "I'm so sorry this happened to you!" However, instead of ensuring she was ok, this owner was adamant about how it could be my sister's fault. My sister confirmed that she didn't put the emergency break on. We offered to show her the video of the machine to prove the fire was in the wrong side to have been a parking break issue. The owner said she didn't want to see the video, as she was confident this was my sister's fault. She said she'd have her mechanic take a look at it to confirm the damage and threatened we'd have to replace her snowmobile. We went home and did our own research to learn about gas fire recalls, for the same brand of the one that caught on fire. This was a known issue with this machine. We returned the day and asked for the serial number of the machine to do our own investigation. The lady-owner said she wasn't sure which machine it was to know what model it was. We informed her of this known issue and then she contradicted herself and said "oh, well there's not one on that machine." She continued to accuse my sister of leaving the parking break on, saying she had a mechanic look at it already. We decided to do our own research, by going back to the place of fire, hoping the machine would still be there so we could get the number/model ourselves. At the machine, the husband/co-owner was there and it was obvious this was the first time anyone was taking a look at it (so the other owner lied when she said she had a mechanic look at it). Thankfully, the husband was there, and he was more open minded to the facts over trying to accuse my sister of this fire. He must have made a call to his wife after our visit with him, because when returning to the store the wife had the refund ready for my sister. There was no apology though, and in trying to get some accountability from her, she then denied ever accusing my sister of the sort and said she merely said it was a possibility. We have it all recorded, and we might post the evidence; however, for now, I feel it's important to tell you: before considering cheap thrills, do your research prior to ever getting on one of their machines! They were unaware of any recalls for the machine model they had, and they were adamant about putting blame on us without any interest on the facts. If anything, do your own research if they try to blame you for their machines being faulty. And be prepared for flames 🔥, because this really happened! Keep your loved ones safe! My sister had her daughter on the back, and we are thankful they are both ok!!

Horrible experience! My mom and sister were on a snowmobile going slow and careful and it caught fire! My mom is scared of snow mobiles was very careful. They had to hurry and jump off when my sister saw the flames. Cheap Thrills tried to blame the fire in my mom and make her pay for it. We soon looked it up and found out the snowmobile has a recall. The owners still were so rude about it. They never said sorry or had any care in the world. Our family will never use them again.

Buyer beware- If you rent from Cheap Thrills, be sure to take pictures of the damage on your vehicles before you go out and upon your return. We disputed what they claim was our damage and we really believe this is a scam to keep your damage deposit money. Be careful and cover yourselves!

Had an awesome experience with Cheap Thrills. Rented two double snowmobiles for the day and had a blast riding up to Warren and stopping at Burgdorf. Employees couldn’t have been nicer and machines were in great shape. Thank you for a memorable day!

I was in McCall on business and my partner rented snowmobiles for us. Long story short, the people who had rented earlier that morning were late in getting back with their snowmobiles. As we were waiting for them to return, the owner became more and more aggravated and by the time they showed up, he was very, very angry. Mind you, they should not have been late, but the way in which he spoke to them upon their return was horrible. I was embarrassed for them as he stood there screaming at them and talking down to them. He was WAY out of line and should have handled the situation very, very differently. I was so shocked about his behavior that I didn't speak up at the time, as I wish I had done. If I ever have the opportunity to snowmobile in McCall again, I certainly will not rent from Cheap Thrills.

My husband and I rented snow mobiles with three of our friends, all men, except for me. At the beginning of the rental, The owner, Chuck, Went through the instructions on how to operate the snow mobile. Then he singled me out and proceeded to explain that I need to take extra care because women crash often on snow mobiles. He then spent ten minutes giving us examples of horrible things that women have done on snow mobiles. I brushed it off and we went on our way. Had a great time at the hot springs but I left early because I needed to pick up my kids from daycare. I didn't want to be late. When I got to the pick up point and met back up with Chuck, he called me a "goofy a** girl". Then compared me to Teenager waiting for her parents, and teenagers always forget to grab the car keys. I explained that I'm a grown woman with my own car and I didn't forget the keys. I was so furious. What should have been a great day was ruined by his sexist and offensive behavior. The men I was with also thought he came across sexist. I said something to chucks wife when I dropped off my gear. She made excuses for him but did apologize. Later that night I received a text from the wife of one of my friends. They had rented from there just two weeks prior and he had made comment to her about how stupid women can be. Sooo moral of the story, if you're a woman, and don't mind being belittled, sure, rent from cheap thrills. But if you want to have a good time and not be treated like a second class citizen, go elsewhere.

Rented 7 snowmobiles for 12 people on 3/19/18. Reservation was easy and office staff was helpful. We booked a 4 hour trip and arrived an hour early and were outfitted. We then drove about 20 minutes to pick up the sleds. We arrived about 1:55 for our 2-6 p.m. rental. Having rented snowmobiles around 15 other times, I was expecting to get on the path at about 2:05 with a lesson on how to start, where to go and what not to do. About 50 minutes later, we were finally released - yes 50 minutes. It was a joke. I believe it was the owner giving us the instruction and he clearly was trying to limit our time (and thus rip us off) on the sled. He literally took the snowmobile apart and showed us stuff about the sled we would never care about. It would be like renting a car and having Avis give you instruction on how to change the transmission. They should provide a two way radio or some other communication device if a sled is broken down or if there is a medical emergency and tell people to call them and they will help versus here is how to take the sled apart and repair it yourself. It was terribly disappointing as we basically paid for 4 hours and the owner stole an hour from us.
The sleds were fine and the place we ate lunch at was cool and the hotspring was great as well. Unfortunately, we had to rush. If you rent from them, get there two hours early and confirm the instruction can start an hour before your expected start time. I would bring some chairs and snacks and drinks to listen to the bull crap "safety" instruction. If you have kids, bring some games or an Ipad for them to play on. I would have rather been charged more and gotten the full 4 hours than been stolen from.
Someone actually mentioned that the instruction can actually take up to an hour and fifteen minutes so be aware

How physically challenging is the snow mobile trip up to Burgdorf? I have some health issues but I really want to do it. Is it grueling or is it doable in 4 hours with a one hour soak?
