My 7 y.o. wanted to skate but my 9 y.o. didn't, so this was perfect. It was busy so we had to book the bumper cars for later and skated while we waited. 9 y.o. had so much fun! And he got a bonus second ride right after as not all the cars were booked. The guy running the show (sorry I didn't get his name) was awesome, patient even when people had no idea what they wanted. He saw my 7 y.o. was feeling left out (turns out she DID want to ride the bumper cars) and got her in the car and out on the ice in a flash. Totally made her night! She had a kind if tricky car and he even went back out to help her figure out how to drive it. 10/10 would do this again!

While visiting the area, my wife and I stumbled upon this event center just in time for the Jr. Steelheads to be playing a hockey game on a Friday night. This was no kiddie hockey; these guys were playing traveling teams and skated and played hard. Tickets were very reasonably priced and concessions were also available. The bleachers / seats were a little hard, so bring a pad, pillow, etc. if you can. The events are also “open seating” so get there early if possible. When buying the tickets, we noticed that the event center also has open ice skating and looked very clean and family oriented. Awesome place.

we drove from Star, Idaho directly up route 55 to McCall, took about 2 hours, the drive alone is pretty, but the destination of the Ice Festival was our purpose for the trip. We arrived around 10:30, and parking was already tight. When we left at 3:30, the route into town was backed up several miles. The event provides maps to follow for where the sculptures are located, if you ask the business's along the main street. Or you can just follow the crowds. We were very impressed with the level of art that were achieved in ice. Very intertaining, an easy walk around town to see all the entries.

Although I do not ice skate I enjoy watching figure skating competitions and Ice Hokey games. They also have curling here.

This place is beautiful. So nice to have a place to ice skate and have events in McCall, since there isn't much like this around.
