I've been coming here for years. The staff is always great, the pools are well maintained. They're open late (10 or 11) so it's a fun day trip from Salt Lake City or to stay over. I love Lava Hot Springs! Simply put! But all in all great experience, I grew up coming here but hadn’t been in years. Most of the pools have shade coverings to block out the sun. All of them have nice amounts of bench and floating areas. The bottoms of the pools are flat rock, or small gravel. All of them are easy on the feet. While water socks are allowed, they are not necessary. Our group ended up going barefoot the whole time, with no problems. …

Although it was busy, shoulder season is the perfect time to go. Everyone spread out in the pools and I didn't feel packed. All are respectful of your space.
