Each pool is a little different. We mostly sat in 105 degree spa water but the big pool reach 110. The pools are great, customers are personable. The bathrooms are adequate. The price is still only $6.

You have to visit the hot pots when coming to Lava. The state has done an incredible job of modernizing and making the place a destination. It's always full of people, but it doesn't feel as though there are that many. The pools all have...More

These hot springs might as well be very large, very hot, man-made hot tubs. They don't feel like they are being fed from a natural spring. They are crowded and you can hear all of the conversations around you. There are announcements paged about how...More

I have gone to Lava hot pools for many years and briefly lived in the small town. It has always been a quiet, meditative, spiritual place for me in keeping with it's heritage of being a peaceful and healing place for the Native American tribes...More

Start at the swimming center. Eat dinner. End your day here. The facilities are nice and clean. Each pool is temperature labeled. Try the hottest, enjoy the cooler pools. Wouldn't like if it was a hot evening but when we went it was on the...More

My preferred hotel is the Home Hotel which is nearly next door. Great rooms, great staff and within walking distance of nearly everything you'd want access to at this time of year. Granted it is at the opposite end of town... More

Both the KOA and Mary's Place campgrounds are walking distance from the hot pools. Both seem small, quiet and beautiful.
