What a beautiful place. It was clean and not too crowed but people were having fun. Everyone got lunch and ate outside, no bugs but average bar food. We did like eating and being able to feel like we were in a calendar photo!

Beautiful, large lake with a wealth of facilities incl. Lodge, restaurants, boat and kayaks etc. Lots of hiking. However we did not enjoy the hike along a hot, rocky and dusty trail with way to many horse flies. We were told that taking a boat ride across the lake $$ would take us to much better trails. Maybe next time.

Redfish is another 'what you see is what you get", with a whole lot more crowd than many pictures suggest. The lake and surrounding grounds can be very busy with families and it may not be the place to go if you're seeking solitude. Otherwise, a gem in Sawtooth.

What would I want to know about this natural lake area if I were heading there for the first time.. 1. It's a destination resort with a cool lodge with lots of history and there are good meals available inside and out in summer. 2. The lakefront setting is perfect with a sandy (sort of) beach for swimming, paddle boats,... More

This lovely lake nestled in the mountains is a destination point. Go for the swimming, rent a paddle boat, picnic at lakeside tables, or for an adventurous boatride to the far end of the lake and a hike up to the incredible waterfalls. Bring your dog but keep it on a leash around the lodge/resturant. Crowded parking but worth the... More

Take the time to stop at Redfish Lake spend at least a couple hours there if you're just driving through the area. Rent a boat or paddleboard or canoe and go out onto the crystal-clear Mountain water lake and see Mount Heybu n, the highest point in Idaho. The food in the lodge is also great. The lodge and cabins... More

We got to the lake during a rain shower and were allowed to eat our picnic lunch indoors at the restaurant with a beautiful view overlooking the lake.

We visited with friends who live in the area and it was a good visit.Lake is larger than you think and looks like it has all the amenities come late spring. Lots of game, elk, deer, antelope and the odd coyote.
