It was a happy accident we ended up here, and am so glad we did! Not only did we get our taste of horseback riding, but we also got to relax on their pond and fish prior for a reasonable price. It was a easy short ride from West Yellowstone. We have been horseback riding throughout our global travels, but have never had such a thorough, instructional demo prior! Would def recommend to others!

We appreciate your review! Some people think we might go overboard with our instructional demonstration and we are happy that you expressed your appreciation of it. Thanks for the review

Excellent family fun. We had a few kids who had never been on a horse -and was nervous but they handled everything very well, and put the kids on horses that were very tame. We all had a great time, and the scenery was beautiful. I would definitely recommend for families and kids.

All of the riders that showed up for the day were sectioned off into three groups. Ours was a 3 hour mountain ride group of about 12 people. Then we got on horses and somehow were taken on a 2 hour Prarie ride. A refund was issued but we felt that disorganization at the coral and how buisness was run led to us getting somthing no one wanted. It was a big let down for our group and we felt that this didn't have thier stuff together. The guide was very nice and we liked her.

Again, I apologize for the mix-up. I remember the day well and even though we gave you a refund for the ride you did not receive, I know it wasn’t what you expected. If you are in the area again next year, and if you will send me a postal mail reminding me of the situation-including the date that you rode with us, I will send you an invitation to ride with us again, in the mountains, at no charge! To obtain postal information go to <yellowstonehorses.com>

Nice horse riding experience and free fishing and water activities, a lot of fun for kids. Although we ran late for our appointment, the owner was very nice to still offer us a shorter session. Everyone got their own horse, even the 6 year olds. All the horses are well trained, so not hard to ride even without any previous experience. The ranch has a fishing pond, you can borrow their rods, and a swimming pond full of water crafts, like kayaks, peddle boats, etc. Kids enjoyed a lot playing after the rides till almost dark.

We rode horses during the Family Trail Ride in the afternoon. We had a fantastic time! Three families of friends participated. The three moms each took two kids with them ages 5-9. The Dads stayed back with the kids who were under 5 and they also had a fabulous time hanging out at the lake and riding boats waiting for our trail ride to return. On the trial ride we saw 3 deer, a red tailed hawk, and an osprey. We crossed creeks and ponds. We stayed for a couple hours afterward and tried fishing and went swimming. We made a day of it! The only improvements that could be made are possibly a little more instruction prior to the ride. Our kids had never ridden on their own before and though they did amazing, a little more instruction while on the horse may have helped calm some nerves. Also, our group was 12 people plus the guide. It would have been nice to have one additional guide with us, especially since 2/3 of our group were kids who were first time riders. Bring your own bike helmets as the helmets available didn't fit well. The kids all say horse riding was their favorite part of our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. I loved it too! We would go on a ride with Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch again in a heartbeat. It is well worth it and a great value!

Thanks for your response. Ordinarily we do give extra instructions for groups that include several children but apparently it was not enough. Sometimes people tell us that we spend too much time teaching the basics instead of out riding the trails and sometimes, like in your situation, people tell us we do not spend enough time giving instructions. We try to keep a happy medium and I'm sorry that your children were nervous after listening to the guide's instructions. However, I would like to bet that your children came back full of confidence!
