My family had an amazing time! Our kids, ages 9, 12 and 15 have very little horseback riding experience but our guide made sure everyone was comfortable and confident. The views were amazing and the property had so much fun to offer. If some of your party isn't riding, they can fish, enjoy lots of water activities and explore this gorgeous place. We truly could not have asked for better views, a better guide or a better experience. We highly recommend Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch.

The staff was top-notch. The horses were great for new or experienced riders. My grandson was 8 and had never ridden before. We took the two-hour ride and he did great with the help of our guide and the gentle horse he rode. My 8-year-old granddaughter rides in horse shows and is used to being on a horse and she loved it! It is a fantastic experience for a family outing.

The value for money fits if you look at other providers they cost twice with 1 hour less. You are well instructed and the horses are distributed according to experience (even those without experience) Sadie was a great guide😄

Eagle Ridge is a Family owned and run operation and it shows! The care factor was abundant in the way they treat the horses and the guests. Our ride was amazing, with amazing views and great horses (Shout out to our guide Josie who had a big group w kids and she was spot on taking care of everyone). After our ride (which was one of the best I can remember) we hung out at the ranch swimming and boating for another 4 hours. All in this was an amazing family experience and I HIGHLY recommend Eagle Ridge Ranch. Lastly- My wife and I rode Tetons and Jackson Hole and Eagle Ridge was by far the best!!

Did a two hour ride with my wife and two kids. The ranch is in a beautiful setting and easy to find with the directions they gave. Check-in area is nice. There are bathrooms, you can buy water ($1), easy parking. Pre-ride instruction is good and first timers will feel safe. Tucker was our guide and he was great. The ride primarily goes through wooded areas up deeper into the ranch along the foothills. A lot of stream crossings which made the ride more interesting for the kids, but not scary. The views and scenery were really pretty. Overall a nice family experience. Highly recommend.

What a fabulous evening ride! We stayed close by and kept driving past the ranch and decided to try it. So glad we did! This family run ranch was such a cool experience for us, as 3 of the 4 had never ridden a horse before. The guides did a great job of explaining everything to us and making us feel comfortable on the horses. Lincoln was our guide and he is a great young man, made a point to talk to everyone in our group, we had 4 and then 2 other family’s on our ride. Got there a little early and we were showed how to lasso :). Definitely a must if you are in the area!

My family and I took a two hour trail ride from 4 to 6 PM. My daughter is only 10 years old and her horse was extremely safe. My mother who is 70 who rides frequently also had so much fun. I would say this is a great experience for anyone that is familiar with riding horses or brand new, all the horses are so safe and taken care of and my my favorite part was that most of the horses are rescues or retired, and this is a great place for them to spend their last years.

Easy booking experience, very communicative and well run. For experienced horseman, it may be a bit basic (walk only, typical trail ride horses). However, as a lifelong rider I enjoyed being on a steady Eddie who didn’t need much guidance. It made for checking out the amazing views even easier. Thanks for a great last day!

My family had such a great experience riding horses led by our guide, Logan. The horses were beautiful and easy to ride and we could tell they were very well cared for and loved. We did the 4:00 ride and it was the perfect time of day to experience the ranch. We would all highly recommend this ride!

Wow! What a wonderful day. My wife and I, both in our mid 60’s, booked the 2 hour trail ride

First off, the ranch was beautiful. Ponds with canoes and paddle boats and a small lake with row boats for fishing. I think there was a small playground for kids. There are picnic tables, bring a lunch and enjoy the views of surrounding mountains

The trail guides looked to be around college age or a bit older. All were really friendly and helpful, and clearly enjoy working with people

The Ride..if you are a veteran rider who wants to giddy-up and go and show off your riding skills, then this probably isn’t for you. But if you want a leisurely walk through streams, meadows and forests, surrounded by mountains, then you will have an absolutely wonderful time.

We saw kids around 6-7 riding alone and doing just fine The guides start with a brief riding and safety talk, then try to match rider with horse as best as possible

Our guide, Lexi, was as sweet and friendly as can be. She constantly moved up and down the line of riders to check on how each of us was doing, and if our horse was behaving. Half way through the ride she got off her horse and took pictures of everyone using your own phone. There was no fancy photographer taking pics and trying to get overpriced pics at the end.

In short, I would highly recommend these folks for a great family outing, and at a fair price for what you get as well

What a wonderful find! I booked from the UK having done a Google search of horse riding near Yellowstone and found this gem! We booked as a family of 4 for a 3 hour ride and had Lexi as our guide. We were put with another group of 3 lovely guys and a group of 2 ladies and a gentlemen all from other parts of the USA. The fact that we were the most inexperienced of the group really didn’t matter as the ride was so informal and it was great fun riding along with everyone, chatting as we were going. We did another similar experience in Yosemite a few years ago and this experience far exceeded the last one. Lexi was very relaxed with us all, the horses were great and the ride was just awesome! Lexi is a credit to Yellowstone horses and you can clearly see that the “company” is more than a business - everyone loves what they do and the horses are clearly looked after. We loved it so much that both my husband and daughter took the last availability for a 2 hour ride the following day with Josie in the pouring rain - that’s how much fun they’d had!!!! Josie was an equally good guide and again, a credit to Yellowstone horses.

We are so glad to hear that you and your family had such an incredible time with us! We love our guides and are always so pleased to hear when they and the guests they take out have such an incredible time. Next time you are in the Yellowstone area we would love to take your family out on another ride! Thank you for sharing your experience!

What a great day!! Our extended family with 8 adults & 5 children (age ranges 6 to 11) spent a week in the Yellowstone area. The day we spent at Yellowstone Horses was by far the favorite. Many in our party had not ridden before especially the children. Everyone was perfectly comfortable with the instructions and how the trail leaders kept a close eye on everyone.

After riding, we enjoyed the lake with everything it offers, water trampoline, paddle boards, kayaks, zip line swing, etc. The kids & adults alike could not have enjoy themselves more.

Don't skip the cookout! WOW! Even our picky kids ate with gusto.

Our group of 9 booked a two hour horseback ride which included dinner. Eagle Ranch was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed! The process went quickly to sign-in and we were on our horses within the first 30 minutes or so. Our group had some young riders 6 & 8 but the guide, Delsey helped the nerves dwindle by riding next to anyone having a hard time. She guided us through the meadow, through creeks and took our group picture with a backdrop of the snow capped mountains behind us. The trip was a nice two hour experience that made you feel like you were a world away and left us nice and hungry for dinner. Dinner was ready for us when we said goodbye to our horses. It was a yummy dinner of pulled pork, potatoes, green salad, fruit salad and super yummy dessert. We then went out to the lake on the property and fished for awhile. Our kids loved the experience and are now begging to do it again.

We booked a 3 hour ride into the Teton mountains for me, my 18 yr old daughter and her 21 yr old boyfriend. My daughter and I had ridden a little and her boyfriend none. 2 days before our scheduled trip, the ranch called to apologize but they needed to reschedule or rebook our trip because of unusual bear activity in the area we were to be riding into. I was more than ok with this and appreciated the precaution greatly! They offered options for how to help us including call other outfitters for us to find a 3 hour trip in a different area. they said they would fully refund our price and help us find another one if we wanted to. OR we could do a 2 hour one with them to a different area that was not having bear issues. So, we chose to do the latter. After refunding the original 3 hour trip, they rebooked us to the 2 hour trip and gave us a large discount since we didn’t get to do the original trip we planned! And I am so glad we stayed with them! Our guides (Jess and Ava, i think were their names) were excellent - fun and talkative, but also, attentive and excellent horsewomen. We felt safe and had fun the entire way. Plus, they stopped at some lovely spots to take pics of everyone with their groups. We also loved our horses who were all relaxed and easy to ride, with little or no experience, but just spirited enough to keep it interesting! So thankful for this opportunity and these great people who made it even more memorable! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you all!

Fabulous experience—even better than expected! Had a 6-year-old who was afraid of the horse once he got up to mount and the guide coached him up, letting him pet the horse and talking to him about being brave is not not being afraid, but being afraid and doing it anyway. My boy did great from there, alone on his horse. The rest of our family came to, with 4 kids under 10 and we all did well. I loved that the trail brought us across 5 streams and that was especially fun. Also so beautiful. Got some amazing pics. Also, our guide, Jess, was skilled and so helpful! THANK YOU!

This ranch is absolutely stunning!!!! The ride through the ranch was breathtaking. The ride is suppose to be 2 hours, but by the time they got all 32 of us on a horse, 25 minutes had gone by. They did split us into 3 separate groups, which made it better, but the system of getting going on time needs much improvement. There was no talk about the sights we were seeing by our guide. He was very helpful when he needed to be, but did not interact much. Another thing that would help improve the experience is if they also put a guide at the back. We had 11 total in our group, and no one was as the back to help anyone back there.

I took my 8 year old daughter for the 2 hour ride, and even tho I am sore today, I could have done a third hour. Josie was such a fun guide. She made everyone feel welcome. I am an experienced rider, and was given a great horse who I really loved riding. Everyone was safe. And by the end of the trail the entire group was laughing together like we've been life long friends. The experience was so great, that my daughter asked if we could make it tradition to visit every year while we are taking our annual trip to warm river. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who is not an experienced rider. It's a perfect meandering ride and the scenery is unbeatable.

We thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding at Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch last Wednesday, July 29th! Our kids also enjoyed fishing in the afternoon a couple of hours before our ride was scheduled (it was nice and sunny at that time). It started raining about 30 minutes before our scheduled 4pm evening ride, so we had to wait some time to see if could still do the trail ride. The rain let up for the most part so the 3 groups started being assigned horses a little after 4pm and we headed for the trails around 4:20pm. Logan was our guide and he was excellent-especially with two of my kids who were somewhat nervous being that it was their first trail ride. He was great to talk to and also provided information/history about the area. My son even ate a sego lily (he would never do anything like this prior lol) after Logan told us it was his favorite flower because he could eat them! All of our horses were the perfect fit for each of our family members and most importantly for my kids. They absolutely loved the trail ride even though it rained pretty hard the last 15 minutes of our ride and we were pretty cold after we we got off of the horses from getting soaked that last part of the ride. They will never forget this ride for sure due to the weather! I loved it as well and can’t wait to ride at Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch when we visit the area again! If Logan is still working there, will see if we can be assigned to his group again as he is great with kids and awesome to talk to! Thank you so much Logan!

We rode horses during the Family Trail Ride in the afternoon. We had a fantastic time! Three families of friends participated. The three moms each took two kids with them ages 5-9. The Dads stayed back with the kids who were under 5 and they also had a fabulous time hanging out at the lake and riding boats waiting for our trail ride to return. On the trial ride we saw 3 deer, a red tailed hawk, and an osprey. We crossed creeks and ponds. We stayed for a couple hours afterward and tried fishing and went swimming. We made a day of it! The only improvements that could be made are possibly a little more instruction prior to the ride. Our kids had never ridden on their own before and though they did amazing, a little more instruction while on the horse may have helped calm some nerves. Also, our group was 12 people plus the guide. It would have been nice to have one additional guide with us, especially since 2/3 of our group were kids who were first time riders. Bring your own bike helmets as the helmets available didn't fit well. The kids all say horse riding was their favorite part of our trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons. I loved it too! We would go on a ride with Yellowstone Horses at Eagle Ridge Ranch again in a heartbeat. It is well worth it and a great value!

Thanks for your response. Ordinarily we do give extra instructions for groups that include several children but apparently it was not enough. Sometimes people tell us that we spend too much time teaching the basics instead of out riding the trails and sometimes, like in your situation, people tell us we do not spend enough time giving instructions. We try to keep a happy medium and I'm sorry that your children were nervous after listening to the guide's instructions. However, I would like to bet that your children came back full of confidence!
