The Funtime people are for the most part very pleasant and professional in their service. The "shared" boats are actually more comfortable and provide a FAR smoother and faster ride than the "private" boats (much smaller and much bumpier ride). The crossing from St. Maarten to Anguilla can be REALLY rough at times, so the larger boats are much better. Complimentary beverages are provided both ways. The biggest downside is that there is a complete racket with regards to luggage... Once you arrive in St. Maarten, they make you take a cab to literally go like 200 yards to the ferry dock and you are "obliged" to tip the cab driver. Then, they have a separate set of porters who not subtly at all "request" tips for the service of taking your bags about 100 feet from the cab to the boat. Then, when you get to Anguilla, the same process happens in reverse... another set of porters appear who "request" tips for putting your bags on a dolly and taking them about 100 feet to the customs/immigration office. The porters are NOT SHY about asking for tips.... repeatedly until they feel like everyone has tipped them. All in all, it's still a better experience than the public ferry, but the porter thing is VERY annoying. I'd rather just pay a bit more up front and not be hassled, but they are not employed by Funtime.

In reading the other reviews, I’m surprised by the experiences of others relative to the transfer experience my husband and I had. We booked a shared transfer through the Belmond Cap Juluca hotel where we are staying (which is amazing!). It may have been the hotel’s coordination that improved the process, but we didn’t have any porters or strange luggage hand offs. We were the only ones on the boat as it was the first day Anguilla opened for tourists.
We did have to wait about 25 minutes as we were early to the boat, and another 15 minutes upon arrival for the health administrator to arrive for the test. While no one loves waiting, it was a function of the times not anyone’s issue.
The weather is quite windy so it was an adventurous boat ride, but surprisingly I never felt sick or got wet. We sat outside in the front bow for a great view and some welcomed sunshine.
Crew was great and super friendly!
We debated whether to fly or transfer by boat. Now having done the boat, personally I would rather be on the water in a large boat than tossing around in a small plane, though this is a matter of personal preference. Entire trip took 30 minutes plus another 30 for driving, waiting and admin. If your arrival times perfectly with the departure, it would be even more convenient.
Overall I would recommend, especially in a slow season.

In October 2019, I had an accident as I was getting off the ferry at Blowing Point. Accidents can happen. I am very happy to let you know that Funtime Charters stepped up and reimbursed my out-of-pocket expenses, that my travel insurance did not cover. This was very much appreciated.
The trip from SXM was excellent. Cold drinks were offered. The crew was friendly and polite. Going to Anguilla from St. Maarten by a Shared Ferry, is an affordable way to get to Anguilla. Passengers are met at the airport and transferred to the dock just by the airport. Totally stress-free. In addition to this, approaching Anguilla by boat is exhilarating. I love the fresh air and breeze blowing through my hair after being cooped up on a plane for the many hours it takes to travel from the West Coast of Canada. Thank you Funtime!

Scheduling was easy enough via email. Arrival was awesome, literally right in - process took 10 minutes. Boat ride over the two individuals were talkative and pleasant. We asked the captain if he had change for a $20 to tip - he looked at his balled up cash and said no. He had plenty of one's and definitely a couple of $5 dollar bills. That put a pretty bad taste in our mouth.
Coming back as we purchased a round trip.....that was the absolute opposite. Nobody was pleasant. Nobody could answer simple questions. The response I received from the only individual working for the company that stopped long enough to allow me to ask a question was, "it's all good". We departed 20 minutes later than what we were scheduled. Made us feel a lot like, we already got your money and don't care type things.

My husband and I booked a half day private boat tour of Anguilla. I chose Funtime because in their booking confirmation it says hotel/villa for pickup. Which I assumed meant that they would be picking me up. Not the case. We had to get a cab to meet the boat at a different location. Not a deal breaker, but frustrating. I called the day before and confirmed the trip. When we arrived where the boat should be, there was no boat and no employees there either. We had to borrow a phone from a local to call them. They said they had been trying to get in touch with us, but were unable to. They had to cancel due to bad water conditions. At the same time I'm watching other boaters going out on their trips?? They didn't call our hotel, or my cell phone, but they emailed my work email address (which of course I'm not monitoring because I'm on vacation) 40 minutes prior to our scheduled departure. So we were stuck paying for the cab to and from our hotel and didn't have enough time to go on another boat trip. And the water was not rough at all that day. It was like a lake everywhere we went. Other boating groups were being dropped off in front of our hotel all day. Very frustrating.

Ride was fine and better than public ferry. $30 scam for EHAS fast track form for SXM departure from Anguilla. Porters will hassle you at least 20x so have cash ready. I’d do Calypso next time. Way more friendly and professional

Funtime was great. The ferry is very nice and very professional. I had many questions before and while in Anguilla and they would reply very fast to all my questions and concerns, it was very helpful and a good piece of mind. Our flight was delay and they made sure to wait for us to all arrive safe to the island .

I opted for funtime since it got such high reviews but man do I wish I hadn’t. We arrived early at 1:30 for our 2:45 shuttle and they would not let us go to the earlier one. Fine. The waiting area though is actually 100 degrees and PACKED with people. No air condition, no water or drinks to buy (or offered), so we sat and sweat. It’s also so disorganized no one knows what’s going on. 2:45 comes and goes and no ferry... 3:20 we finally leave, so sitting in the hot heat for almost 2 hours without a water. The relaxing atmosphere of the ferry is definitely not what we encountered. We were on a tiny boat that packed 20 people in and got a free bottled beer. The staff demanded tips at every single leg of the trip also which was disgusting. Before we got on they wouldn’t let us on unless we tipped $5 for the luggage staff. Then on the boat they made us tip $10 for the boat staff. Then off the boat the made us tip again for taking the luggage. This is RIDICULOUS. We are on the boat for 20 minutes and had one piece of luggage. The trip was also silent. No explanation of the island, no conversation, the boat staff practically pretended we weren’t there. Honestly you’re better off taking the public ferry. It’s fast and reliable and cheap.

I have used them 7 times in the past 8 months and they never disappoint. Very professional and very friendly. Complimentary drinks are included and they are first class all the way.

We used Funtime Charters for our ferry across from St Maarten and back again when arriving/leaving Anguilla. Arrival was seamless. However, departing Anguilla, it was not as nice an experience. We booked a private charter to prevent waiting around in the heat with twin toddlers. There was one lady doing the check in process before and then directing the various parties to their boats after the customs process. It was definitely not streamlined and made for an unpleasant experience leaving the island. Once on the boat, it was great.

Happy to help! You can google or bing search for Fun time charters reservations. I believe the cost is $55.00 per person. You will be met at the airport and transported to the boat. The boat is about 4 minutes from the airport.
