I'm over 60 and have never seen a place like this. It's an amazing collection of amazing collections, curated with love and dedication, and packaged as a beautiful farm & pioneer town on the banks of the Snake River. The owners are absolutely wonderful, and make you feel at home wandering the buildings. Each room is a window into a different era or theme, and there are stories around every corner. Great for families, kids, or anyone who has an ounce of curiousity. It's a destination; a place you will remember long after you leave.

We called on a Tue when they are not normally open but Belva & Jack were able to graciously accommodate us. We were there 2 1/2 hours & it was not nearly enough time but we got to see everything in a fast forward way. You can see the pride & love they have put into the displays. I kept saying WOW when entering each building. This is truly a Gem for our Gem state. We have visited a lot of museums & this outshines them all!

What a fun and interesting place. The owner's have a story for every piece you ask about. I would almost guarantee that whatever your interest is, they have a collection for it. Simply amazing! My husband is not much of a museum goer, but he said he was surprised, "It kept my interest through to the end." Make some time - we spent over 4 hours enjoying their collections.

Wow, wow, wow! This is a museum created from 60 years of love between Jack and Belva Lawson. What great host they were in showing us around and answering numerous questions.
The museum is located in a several different buildings around the property. It has everything imaginable carefully organized and set up in adult size dioramas.
Situated along the banks of the Snake River, you can bring a picnic and enjoy the panoramic views as well. Don't miss the two emus they have in the middle of the property.
Be sure to check their website for hours and days open. It cost $10 per person and is absolutely worth it!

We were directed to this Museum by the owners of A Hot Spring swimming pool in Givens, Id. It is owned by a couple with the last name of Lawson and is an unbelievable collection of everything that you can possibly imagine. It is arranged in approx. 15 to 20 buildings in a way that you will not believe. My wife and I spent 3 3/4 hours there and could have spent that amount more. This is their collection of many years, along with two building of things from Silver City, which is an old mining ghost town nearby There love and passion of what this is, will be very clear to you when you leave. When we left, we felt as though we had know these people all our lives. I told Mrs Lawson I was going to ask her a question and I believe I will stump you. She said what's the question. I asked her if there was anything they didn't have, she paused and answered no, I think you stumped me. We left Florida may 15th and this has been the highlight of our trip. Don't miss this one. They are open Sat and Sun 9 to 5 and during the week by appointment. They live right there, so an appointment is not difficult. The phone number is (208) 834-2397. There is a $10.00 admission charge and well worth ten times that. (SERIOUSLY) I believe there is a website, but don't have the address. Google EMU-Z-UM. You won't regret the visit. They have RV parking. MY WIFE HAS RENAMED IT " THE AWESOME LAWSON MUSEUM"

More that we could see in several hours but absolutely worth the drive!! If you want to see up close what life was like back in the older days in the area you have to go see it! Extremely laid back there and do what you want on your time there but hopefully you can chat with the owners and learn some extra stuff (only if you ask) I feel like young kids would have fun for the 1st hour and possibly get restless at least our 3 boys are like that! Must do, great day!

Ya have to see it to believe it!
My wife & I visited the museum on a Wednesday of October 16 2019 after calling ahead of time to schedule a visit during the off season. The Lawson's were there to greet us and start the tour in which I thought would last approximately an hour but I was wrong because there is so much to see. It is amazing work & devotion they have put into displaying all the artifacts & attractions that are a reminder of our early history and culture. Bring your camera though because there are so many things of different interest for everyone. Some exhibits are inside while others are outside or roof covered so a flash may come in handy for indoors and a sunny day would be a plus for nice pics outside. The mocked up gas station/garage was my favorite as old cars, gas pumps and vintage signs are my thing and as for my wife it was the old Native American pieces and wall art. It was little over two hours for us to see everything and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to visit the Emu-Z-um and put it as an addition to there future bucket list.

The best collection of western Americana we have ever seen. It beat out Virginia City, Bodie, and Calico by a long shot! Everything was well themed and displayed.

This is the most comprehensive, astonishing, entertaining Western historical museum you'll ever visit. Well worth an entire day (you can bring your picnic lunch if you need a break!). Without fail, you'll be glad you visited. As seen in the March 2019 issue of Idaho Magazine!
