The 5-day pack trip to Tetons was fantastic!  Deb and Kevin are warm and friendly.  They are patient with the young and the old (our group was aged 13 to 70) , the experienced and the complete novice.  The mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. The horses were sure footed and forgiving.  Boone the wonder dog was friendly and loving and everyone wanted to take the Australian shepherd home.  I would use Dry Ridge outfitters again and again.  Saddle bags nicely hold trail gear, like water bottles, binoculars, or a trail snack.  There is much to do when getting ready in the morning or after a ride, but people can do as little or much as they are comfortable with.  Everyone in our group gladly helped groom and saddle with particular care for their own horse for the week.  Bring a pair of work gloves for getting the horses ready, they are not needed for riding.  The cooking was great, and it was nice not having to worry about helping with that task, Greg was a terrific camp cook for our trip -- master of the dutch oven.  Our trip was in mid August and the fields were covered in blooming wildflowers and virtually no bugs!

Met Kevin and Lacy at their barn, which is up on a hill and a little hard to find. Google Maps will get you close, but leaves you in an empty pasture, on Reece Road. Tip is to drive north on Reece Road and look for the Circle L sign up on a hill near the road to the barn (to the left, or west, as you are driving north). I was thrown off by the directions which said turn off of highway 32 at Jack Pine (12000) road. I was looking for 'Jack Pine', but it is only marked as 12,000 on the sign.

Both Kevin and Lacy were friendly and personable, interesting, and easy to talk to. Lacy said Kevin breeds his own horses, and if my horse was any measure of it, he does a very good job! Puck was spirited and well trained. Our trail ride went up and down several ridges and across streams. At our turnaround point you had a pretty good view of the Tetons through the trees, but IMHO the best view of the Tetons is on the ridge where their barn is. I asked Kevin if a lot of people say that that view is worth the cost of the trail ride. His response was yes, they do. It's true though, and the view of the west side of the Tetons is one of the most amazing things I have seen. When I visited in June the pastures on the ridge were all green.

We did a 1/2-day ride at the beginning of the season, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Kevin and Deb are great people and the horses were well trained and groomed. They pay a lot of attention to detail and were very patient with the novice riders in our group. If you're looking for an adventure on horseback in the Teton / Yellowstone area, we can highly recommend Dry Ridge Outfitters. No matter what kind of trip you book, you will be in good hands and can expect a fantastic ride.

Kevin and the guides were great and knowledgeable about the land and flora; Deb's meals were delicious and healthy and took everyone's dietary needs into account. The horses, mostly Morgans, were so surefooted and safe. My mare would feel around in the stream with her hoof before advancing. Of course the ever changing scenery was breathtaking as we progressed through the mountains and valleys. Cant wait to go again.

We took a 3 day pack trip with Deb & Kevin who are extremely well organized and provide an amazing experience. The views were breathtaking and amazing meals were provided. They both take care to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of their guests. Evenings around the campfire getting to know these folks and laughing created wonderful memories we'll not soon forget! Deb and Kevin are fantastic at what they do and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an adventure!!

Deb and Kevin were terrific. Really genuine people who provided an excellent family experience. One aspect of their business that I was especially appreciative of was their willingness to take my son, who is a very confident little 7 year old. I wanted him to have the experience of riding a horse in the county as I did when I was young and visiting the Tetons; Kevin quite honestly could not have been a better person for the task. He has a terrific combination of personality and patience. I also appreciated that when we got to our lunch spot he had three trained black bears in a tree waiting (just kidding, of course) - but the coincidence was uncanny. I loved that we still got off our horses and enjoyed lunch in that same spot despite the bears. My 7 year old quietly pulled out his swiss army knife in case he had to defend us. Such a hilarious and memorable moment. Thank you so much Deb and Kevin. I wish you both well.

Outstanding!
Adventure of a lifetime!
Deb Little and her crew ensured that we had a safe journey on the trails through the Teton Mountains. They made us feel so welcome and showed us their favorite spots. Everytime the trail turned there was another picturesque scene. The wildflowers were glorious in the high meadows. Spring water ran in rivulets across the landscape.
The riding and pack horses were well trained with great dispositions and knew their jobs. Felt so comfortable riding and working with them. The wranglers we're fabulous! Always helpful and gracious. Great cook! So much fun!
I would add that parts of this trip are not suitable for inexperienced riders. Really important to have some knowledge and experience saddling a horse in western tack, riding in steep elevation, being in the saddle for a couple of hours at a time, ability to take directions and trust the wranglers and horses at all times.
That said....if you love to horseback ride and camp in the wilderness this is a great group to go with and a great experience all around! As for comparison, this ranks even with a camping trip I took above the Arctic Circle with a side trip to Gateway to the Arctic and the Arctic Ocean last year with my family.

Just returned from a 5 day pack trip with dry ridge outfitters. What a wonderful experience.
Deb and her team do an amazing job of taking care of their guests. They go out of their way to meet and exceed each guests needs and wishes. They are professionals that treat you like family always looking out for your comfort and safety. I was also impressed by the deliberate efforts made to leave no trace and keep the area as good or even better than we found it.
The scenery was beautiful, a part of Yellowstone few get to experience with waterfalls and hot springs while the night sky was amazing. The food was plentiful and so very good while the tents and mattresses were amazingly comfortable. The horses were gorgeous, well mannered and very capable of transporting riders of any experience level.
I have been telling my friends and family that if this is on your bucket list (and it should be) that dry ridge outfitters is the company to use. Thank you Deb and team for your efforts to provide an amazing experience and taking such great care of us.

The ride to Hidden Lake was beautiful. What made the ride excellent were the guides. We rode with one other family, three in our family and four in the other family. Chatting with the guides, and listening to other conversations as the two dogs scampered up and down the trail, along with the scenery and a very quick dip in Hidden Lake, still had some patches of snow on the far bank of Hidden Lake, made the ride to Hidden Lake a highlight of our trip.

What an incredible experience!! We did rides for 3 consecutive days and each was more beautiful and more challenging. Kevin's knowledge of the trails and surrounding area allowed for the opportunity to go off trail and see some amazing places and views. His humor and stories of the history of the Tetons and Yellowstone Parks also contributed greatly to the time on the trail. Kevin and Debs stable of horses were amazing, in their strength, agility and how well trained they were, and also the horse's tack was awesome and very well maintained. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience, and look forward to the next time we can join them "on the trail".
