We did the dinner cruise last night and we are so glad we did! The food was amazing! Started with individual salads (because COVID), then we were called by table up to the main dishes that were served up by staff. Prime rib, salmon, baked potatoes stuffed with augratin potatoes, zucchini and rolls. Dessert was Oreo cheesecake. We were stuffed. Their signature drinks were yummy and festive and we bought the one as refills were less expensive and we wanted to try them all.
The boat views of the lake and surrounding area were just beautiful at sunset....and the captain gave us points of interest information every so often during the cruise.
The only criticism we have was they did not social distance the guests very well. All tables were set up for 8 people...should have been 4 at most and limited to family groups of more than 4. Staff did well wearing masks and sanitizing.

We booked the sunset dinner cruise. I’ve been to CdA several times now and always see the boat pass our timeshare on the lake, so we finally decided to book the cruise. If this review was only based on the actual scenic cruising and sunset, I would give it five stars no problem. Once the sun goes down, get a spot at the front of the boat and just take in the beautiful scenery and the divine lake breeze. On a 90-degree day it was heavenly.

So here’s where I have to drop a couple stars. Boarding begins 30 minutes before departure. Of course you want to get there at boarding to get a good seat. They are supposedly only at 60% occupancy, I can’t even imagine how packed it would be at 100%! The tables and chairs are so close together that it’s impossible to sit back to back and still be able to get up. The herd rushes in and there is no a/c, so you either go to the top deck with no sun shelter at all, or you stay downstairs where there is no a/c. It’s just very hot. We sat next to an open window, but the sun beats down directly into the cabin of the boat, and there’s no breeze until you depart. They did depart at 7:30 exactly. The dinner buffet is a free for all. This is where they lose the 5-star rating. Service, or lack thereof is just disorganized. The limited staff on board are all young people who have zero personality or hospitality skills. The bartender was the friendliest, but even she seemed annoyed if you asked for a soda (which was complimentary). Note: they did have strawberry lemonade, but it wasn’t on ice, so not refreshing and cold as it could have been. The dinner choice was salmon, roast beef, salad, carrots and pasta salad. Let’s just say I wasn’t impressed with the food. Once dinner was over, we left the cabin and sat down at the front of the boat and I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, the breeze and even the music selection. It’s dark by the time you arrive back at dock and we all left with an enjoyable experience. This cruise could be fantastic from start to finish if they would just hire some true hospitality staff to run the interior effectively. I would recommend pre-selecting your menu choice and hiring a few waiters to bring the food out to the tables. If they’re at 60% occupancy like they say, then 40% of the chairs and tables need to be pulled out and it would have been a perfect night!

We recently did a tour of Lake CDA through this cruise company and I can't say enough how much we enjoyed it. Friendly, fun staff and super knowledgeable about the lake and the area. Boat tour is about 1.5 hours. We had perfect weather - not too hot, and with a breeze. It was the perfect way to spend an August afternoon and to see the lake in its glory. You can purchase tix online (recommend it) or try to buy them as a walkup. Company also offers brunch and dinner cruises. Cruise not cheap, but not crazy expensive either. We were glad we did it. It was a special activity to do as a family. PS you will be blown away by the lake houses you see as you tour the lake - amazing!

We booked one the 90 minute cruise on a Monday that left at 12:30 pm. We either bought the tickets the morning of or the night before. Either way, I don't think the boat was completely full.

Boarding wasn't too difficult. We have two toddlers and I wasn't sure if we should bring our stroller. We opted to leave it behind in the car but we did see some others with a stroller and I wish we would have brought it. The website didn't really indicate whether that was okay or not so I think that's something they could improve.

We went right to the top of the boat and snagged the last open table, near the middle. Obviously, the tables near the railings are most coveted but they also had seating without tables right along the railing. Since there is no shaded areas up above, I can imagine that that would just be roasting after a brief while. The day we went, it was cloudy-ish so that helped (plus the breeze once we got going). Still, because of having two toddlers that wanted to practice their walking, we went down below after a bit.

About half way through the cruise, I got a really great drink from a really great bartender. She said if I didn't finish it by the time the cruise docked that she could make it to-go, or something along those lines. That felt a little sketchy but it didn't matter because I cruised it quickly.

They obviously had someone in training or something as some of the commentary was like listening to a teenager read aloud in a monotone voice with hardly any pauses. The main gentleman doing the commentary was funny and as engaging as one can be on the boat cruise.

In the end, Lake Coeur d'Alene isn't that impressive of a lake so there wasn't much to see or listen to that was interesting. It was nice, though, to just do something different for a change so we still enjoyed it.

We really enjoyed our sunset dinner cruise. There was no problem social distancing. We were the only people at a table that would normally hold 16 to 20 people.
The dinner buffet had a nice selection. The only downside was the salmon was way overcooked and dry and the potatoes and vegetable medley were cold.
The cruise itself was beautiful with great views of the shoreline and sunset.

We wanted to see all of Lake Coeur d'Alene and this cruise does that. The cruise is 6 hours long and you get to see all of the lake and some of the St. Joe River. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise but would opt for a shorter version on a cooler day in the future.

We opted for the optional lunch (fried chicken, beans, slaw and dinner rolls (not briskets) .
The plusses:
the cruise covers all of the lake and there is lots to see (houses, floating houses, floating green, woodlands)
the wildlife (eagle, osprey, pelicans and deer) near or on the St. Joe river was great.
the boat and bathrooms were clean
the captain did a nice job pointing out various sites, history, wildlife
the minuses
the meal is OK
there is no air conditioning and on a 100 degree day the lake breeze just couldn't cool you enough
the top deck is total sun and depending on the temperature that can be brutal
it's six hours long, we underestimated how much cruising that is and were ready to be back at the dock after 4 to 5 hours. This is not a cruise issue, but you should consider if you really want to be on the boat that long.

I decided to take my out of town visitors on a lake cruise so they could see the beauty of the Coeur d'Alene area. We picked a day that the temperatures was upper 70's to go for the 90 minute excursion. The boat boarded and left right on schedule. The upper deck was perfect for viewing. We even saw a momma moose and her calf! The bar was open and a nice selection of beverages. Great way to spend an afternoon enjoying the scenery!!

Husband and I took this thinking it would be a boat ride around the lake to look at all of the Christmas lights on the homes.

Turned out to be a 20 minute boat ride to see Santa and only lights in one location. It's fine if you are a 5-year old who thinks they are going to the North Pole to see Santa. Anyone else and you'll be just as disappointed as we were.

Some families were trying to see Santa from the front deck of the boat and were told that they couldn't stand out there. You should have seen the faces of the children when they had to go back inside the boat.

Save your money.

My wife and I took the 2 hour dinner cruise around the lake from 7:30 to 9:30. The dinner was a LOT BETTER than I expected and I we really enjoyed it. Nice full diner with two main options and desert. The cruise covered a lot of the lake and we saw a huge amount of the shoreline around with the lake with it's million dollar homes, etc. The sunset on the lake was especially nice. Well worth the time and money.

We have been on many lake and river cruises, and this was the worst by far. First be aware that there is no A/C on board. We'd booked the cruise long before the heat wave hit, but it was not fun at 110 degrees. However, we can't fault the cruise line for that. Just be aware.

All other cruises we've been on had engaging, often humorous staff who gave frequent information about the lakes' geology and geography, history and current data. This one, not. If the crew made 5 short comments in monotone voice, stumbling over a written script, I'd be surprised. It made for a long, boring trip, even with lively scenery. The boat captain on the skiff between the resort and the golf course was much more engaging!
