Disappointing, yet nice. Covid golf, no forecaddie forced on you which was great. But being quoted a price when making a teetime only to be charged $80 more when you show up was extremely disappointing. Course not yet in prime shape but still nice.

The golf course was in great shape. We were paired with very nice men who were kind and courteous. Sadly the caddie was not so great. He started out pretty decent, but after a few holes he became quite laid back. By the time we got to half way point he was more intent on swinging our golf clubs while we were hitting or waiting rather than explain the course. He is a collage student and will be playing golf in college. Sadly he was not following the balls and had trouble finding our location even though we were in the rough or slightly beyond.

We arrived and were warmly received by the valet, and then by Abbee at the front desk. Next we had the opportunity to meet Bailey, the front desk manager who was fantastic not just because of his warm welcome but in dealing with our special requests. Our room was wonderful. Clean, fresh, full of amenities with a big wonderful tv with lots of station choices and a great view of the lake. The bed and linens were just like home! The food and drinks were top notch. We can’t wait to return for a return!

Beautiful course. Great pro shop. Restaurant has awesome view of the island green and has great food. Service was okay. Watched golfers hit balls to the green while having munchies and a cold beer

What is the customary tip for our forecaddy at the resort course? We have a trip planned in a couple of weeks. Thanks

Hi cougguy! We are so excited for you to come and play with us soon! As for your question -Our forecaddies provide undivided attention and detailed service during the round of golf. It is customary to pay the forecaddie a gratuity at the end of the round. The average gratuity is $25 per player. The amount should be thoughtfully reflective of the level of service and overall enhancement of the golf experienc! Hope that helps and we can't wait to see you soon! Warm Regards, Jennifer J

I've never played a course in such fabulous condition. The fairways are better than a lot of greens I've putted on. The caddies are fun and helpful. The floating green is everything it was advertised. Everyone should try this golf experience at least once.

Yes, we had to do it and I guess I'm glad we did but ... wouldn't spend the money again. We found the caddie distracting and really only there to keep play going quickly as there is no other reason. Its a relatively easy course - the caddie was running around, yelling out yardages that we didn't need and that's really the only service that they provided yet you have to tip at least $25-30 pp. Yes, they do run around a lot but again, we found it distracting. We were paired with two terrible golfers that were drinking quite a bit, using foul language - we rented clubs that were low end quality wise. Overall, an odd day. Considering the greens fees, rental clubs, forecaddie cost...other than hitting the floating range balls into the water - don't need to do it again. By the way, the service at the restaurant the day we were there was just terrible. Had to go to the kitchen door to place an order as we could not get anyone to wait on us (or anyone else.) Waitress finally shared how short staffed they were.

The inside of the rooms smelled old and rooms are old. 1980 wants it back. The staff was rude and not very accommodating. I would not recommend or go back again. The outdoor is beautiful. That is all this resort has going on.

Hi there Norris R! Thank you for your review. It is truly your honest feedback that makes The Resort Guest experience the very best that it can be! We are so sorry to hear about the challenges you faced during your recent stay with us but we do have some exciting news to share! We just completed a complete renovation — from new carpet to larger 4K-HD television displays; from improved lighting to cozier beds, there are too many exciting new changes to list! We do completely understand how not feeling welcome would be frustrating and would love the opportunity to speak with you more about your experience! Could you please email me at cdaresortreviews@gmail.com with your best contact number? Thanks again Norris R, we hope you come back to check out all our great changes! Warm Regards, Jennifer J

The famous Coeur d'Alene Golf Course with the floating green is a magnificent place to hit the ball around BUT the little restaurant is absolutely fantastic! You do not have to be a Resort guest or golf guest. The cafe' has fabulous views of the lake and the floating green...you can watch golfers plunk one ball after another in the lake trying to get on the floating green while you sip your Bloody Mary.

I paid good money to golf April 29, 2011. It was the most miserable day of golfing I have ever experienced. The snow flurries regularly hit at about a 45 degree agle. Yes, it was windy and most of the time you could not see more than a couple hundred feet. We were in a party of four and there were no refunds. The floating green was under remodel and ugly. I won't go on, but I will say that a golf course that is just as beautiful even when you can see them both, is the HIghlands Golf Course. And at about one tenth the price, with reservations after 2:00PM, you will be impressed and wealthier. I am glad I golfed the resort, as many of my old colleagues back in Silicon Valley had recommended it, but even on the best of days I cannot justify the pricetag. I'd really love to golf Black Rock; the prettiest golf course I have ever had the misfortune not to play, yet.
