Gorgeous River!

From the heart of the Bitterroots to Coeur d'Alene, one of the prettiest rivers I've ever seen. Lots of riverside RV spots from Adair to Calder. Looks like good fishing too.

This beautiful river is raging and cold in the spring and early summer, but great for "lazy river" floating during the last two weeks of July and all of August.

It was a hot day in Spokane and we needed to get away. Traveled down to the St. Joe and it took our breath away. Gorgeous scenery, meandering river views and nice ice cream and a place to get your feet wet in Avery.

The St Joe River is one of the major waterways in North Idaho that affords everyone an excellent destination for getting away from it all. Along its miles of broad banks you'll find camping and picnicking spots to suit everyone and in the warmer months the river is a popular venue for water craft of almost every description. This is... Travel down the St. Joe River from Coeur d'Alene. It takes awhile unless you have a fast boat but it is a beautiful, lazy, quiet river and worth the time. The St Joe is the highest navigable river in the world and when a dam was built in Post Falls it created the "river that runs through a lake"....that is... More

visiting this area is like you are going to another place in time. We saw all kinds of animals (bears, fox, eagles, other birds, etc.) and the landscape is absolutely beautiful. Definitely worth a trip to visit!

Very nice, lots of sun and seemingly happy people. Easy launch from Heyburn state park. $5.00 fee. Cruised up the St. Joe in a pontoon boat. A few no wake areas, but county park up river west of St Maries was a nice tie=up, with playground, restrooms, and picnic area. Safe to swim, no wake zone. Saw several birds of... More
