Best fly shop in town, and we have a few around here. Good guys n gals very knowledgeable and friendly. Shop was clean, organized and everything was priced right. It’s not one of those shops that you go in and look, then order off amazon for a better price. Everything is priced at the correct MSRP or lower. Not to mention the 30% off table and 50% off rack they always update. If you are looking for a guide to fish the beautiful CDA River then also look no further. Their guides are professional, patient, knowledgeable and will try their hardest to get you into fish. They are the only Orvis licensed dealer in the area, but they are not a Orvis owned store. Northwest Outfiters is a locally owned small business, that Orvis has licensed to sell their products along side other popular and well known brands. Trust me on this, go in, pet the dog, say hi and pick up a few things while you are there. You will be glad that you did A++

Booked a walk-n-wade on North Fork CdA in September, 2020. The day was one of the smokiest ever in the area, but Colby (the guide) still met us and worked hard for fish all day long. We caught a number of nice fish throughout the day, and my buddy improved a lot of his casting technique (new to the game) thanks to Colby's advice. The only thing that could be improved was the lunch; basically a sub and bag of chips.

Fly fishing was a fun adventure. We did the full day on the river. Our guide Brian made huge effort to make sure we had a great experience.
Overall everyone at Northwest Outfitters is super friendly and welcoming.
We would go back just to fish with Brian!

Took an all-day guided fly fishing trip with Mike on the Couer D'Alene river. He's been fishing it his entire life and knows every spot. If you have your own gear - no problem. If you have nothing with you and find yourself with a free day - Mike can setup you up with everything (waders, boots, poles, etc.). I'm relatively new to the sport and he was a great coach. If you (or someone in your party) is completely new, he can take people out even if they have never fished before. I recommend, if possible, going during the week vs the weekend. The river, especially during summer, can get pretty busy on Saturdays & Sundays.

I needed additional fleece for the cold mornings, he has a good supply. The most important event was after a day on the river both our fly lines were not in the best shape as they were older. Mike, the owner, responded to our guides phone call on the way back from the river, came back to the shop, opened it and put on two new fly lines. He had to come back some distance. What an effort and very much appreciated. It did make a difference the rest of our fishing days. Thank you, Mike!

Spent the day fishing the NF CDA river with guide Ryan Allen. What a great day we had catching good numbers of large wild cutthroats. Caught them on nymph rigs, dry/dropper, and dries. Ryan knows the fishery extremely well and learned some new tricks and received great advice on tuning my casting and mending. Enjoyed spending the day with Ryan and would recommend him highly to anyone. Looking forward to fishing again with him.

If you're a fly fisherman and North Idaho is your destination, you need to stop by Northwest Outfitters (an Orvis dealer) to find out what's hot. I've fished all over neighboring Washington and parts of Montana but never North Idaho. I happened to be in Coeur d'Alene and we arranged for Pat to guide us. We had a great day of fishing for local cutthroats.

Went on a guided trip with Pat Way yesterday. Excellent day...fishing was slow but helped us with technique, casting, and so much more. The shop is beautiful. the location listed is not correct. here is website corrected. Shop has moved from listed location on tripadvisor. Full service fly shop shop. Great options for women fly fishers.
