I don't know the history of the course but the front and back nines seem different. Front is pretty tame with relatively little in terms of elevation changes. The back 9 seems newer and really fits the landscape well. Some dramatic elevation changes, wider fairways, more hazards, more challenge. Greens were in great shape; firm and fast. I imagine that... Great local municipal course with plenty of challenges, starting get with the first hole. Mature trees create a beautiful walk. Very reasonably priced. We love it!

Club house is okay but nothing to write home about. Burgers and dogs with some sandwiches are available. Course is fairly flat and wide open, a good one to walk; there's only a couple short, very gentle rises. First hole has a pond in front and green tucked directly behind it. Other water along the course takes the shape of... More

I should start by saying I'm from California, and right now California's golf courses are a bit parched. Needless to say, when I arrived to play I wasn't prepared to see this much green on a golf course, and this much green in my wallet after paying for a round of golf at Purple Sage. The bay area's golf courses... More

Played the course today in a Realtor Scramble Tournament. The conditions were amazing. Greens lush and grass is green like no other, very well manicured. Ample irrigation water is clearly available to this municipal course! For the price this is a 5 star place. If you are looking for luxury clubhouse this is not it. It is simple and appropriate... My husband and my son went last night to hit 9 holes. And he would not give us 2 buggies. He said, I'm too expensive to stay and wait for us to finish the 9 holes. However, he gave us a trolley as my bag is heavier and charged us for one. He was telling my husband that there was... More

I golf Purple Sage 1-2 times a week as my schedule and the weather allows. This is an older course with both easy and difficult holes. Expect the greens to be a little slow. The fairways are usually in excellent shape. Lots of trees (mainly pine) that can be hard to get through. The staff is very friendly and the... More

Very nice golf course. Lots of trees and very well maintained. We didn't have time to play golf, but the pro in the shop told us to take a cart around the course and check it out! Close to the freeway access far enough away to be perfect!

We had people hitting balls at us. Just missed one in our group of 4. When my husband yelled at them to be more careful they complained about us to the club. A guy came around with a timer! and timed us at about 3 holes before we finally asked what was the problem. We were then told we were... More

Great course for the money. Good snack bar and well run. They have a new website: www.purplesagegolfcourse.com.
