This zoo is intimate, at times you get an up-close view of some of the animals. The problem lies in that some of the habitats are sadly inadequate. For instance, the penguin had no water to swim in. There are signs around saying that this or that is being renovated so it is a work in progress. Get to the... More

What?, did we hit post-dining time? Got there a little after noon. Most animals were NOT visible, completely gone or sleeping in a far corner of their enclosure. Then, they wanted to stick me a surcharge for a closer view of the giraffes. Puh-lease!! Don't do that. The highlight: the butterfly enclosure. Overall, very disappointing, though the grounds are well... More

I have been to many zoos around the country. For a small city this zoo is great. Great variety of animals. Very reasonably priced. Not real crowded.

As zoos go, this one was pretty nice. it was a cooler day so most of the animals were out. We saw several that usually are hiding out during the day at most zoos. We enjoyed the butterfly exhibit the most. I typically mark down every zoo I visit for the same thing. Maps aren't very good and zoos don't... More

Took my Grandchildren to the Zoo yesterday. The Kids were excited and happy from a child's perspective. However, this is the worst Zoo I've ever visited with regard to the care of the animals. Many exhibits were closed or should have been closed for animal care and cleanliness. The Penguin exhibition had murky water and we could only see 2... More

Since I am a photographer I travel from State to State observing many zoos. The Boise Zoo is very small housing approximately 200 animals. Most of the time I've only seen 50 or so. The zoo will be undergoing a transformation. This will create a nice Africa theme, expected to be completed in 2018.

Zoo Boise is a nice little zoo, a very good way to spend a morning or afternoon. The zoo was clean, the staff were friendly, and prices very reasonable. Although some of the enclosures seemed on the small side (especially compared to larger zoos like San Diego) the animals seemed well cared for and healthy. Located in a downtown Boise... More

A small town city zoo. The exhibits are small and close together. The animals didn't seem to happy due to the size of their enclosures, but the bigger animals did have a bit more space. The opportunity to feed the giraffes was a high point of the visit.

I went here with my family on fathers day, the staff was friendly. For a small zoo they offer a lot. Had fun visiting and feeding them.
