Nowadays, when I go to Julia Davis Park, it's to take my two-year-old grandson to a very kid-friendly toddler park near the pond at the back. The park has swings, toddler-sized climbing areas, and a quick walk across the waterway takes you right to the Discovery Center off Myrtle St. It's also within walking distance of the paddleboats (don't let... This park is quite large for the area in which it sits. It lies near the Boise River, the State capitol, the Discovery Center, and the Blue Turf of Boise State University. It is a well treed park that abuts the Boise City Zoo and a small lake that one may rent paddle-boats. There is a music venue in the... More

We walked through the park 3 out of 4 evenings to get from Boise State to restaurants. It is a beautiful park. Lots of activity by a variety of groups.

It's close to the zoo, the Discovery Center, Winco grocery store. We've parked here to go to the zoo and the Discovery Center (over the little bridge near the one shelter). There are paddle boats that are a little expensive but are fun once in a blue moon, but make sure you have enough adults to be with any children... More

My son and I took advantage of the first day of summer yesterday and decided to ride the paddle boats. In our excitement to get there I realized I forgot my debit card (they don't take credit cards there) but the woman at the desk was SO nice and let us take out the boats and just asked me to... This large, beautiful park along the Boise River is close to many local attractions (zoo, museums, etc). but is also a lovely destination on its own, with large grassy expanses and a rose garden available to walk through.

Pretty area! There were geese everywhere. I used to come here when I was young and feed the ducks and geese. We rented paddle boats and spent and hour on the water. It was great!

Not only can you have family fun, but this is also the center of many festivals during the summer. Make sure you check out the Goddess fest in July. Free shows for two days with music and belly dancing, face painting, and several local vendors

The rose garden is beautiful, I was lucky enough to see the roses in bloom. The park had a nice gentle flow to it and it worth spending some time walking around admiring the statutes. There is adequate parking and close proximity to the zoo and art museum.
