The Flicks is a small theater but totally enjoyable! If you want, you can even buy a glass of wine to drink while enjoying one of a few choices of movies. It is located downtown and close to Boise's wonderful 8th Street which is full of wonderful restaurants and Boise's Farmer's market on Saturdays.

Reminds me of how it used to be going to the movies. Smaller theaters, food and wine bistro with an outdoor patio, or take inside the theater if you choose.

I love this place, great movies, beer, and cookies. Nice small theaters that show great films, they also have a nice selection of rental DVDs.

This theater is great for date night, out with friends or by your self. Small intimate theater experience showing movies you might not see at the big box theaters.

When going to the movies, I like the traditional venues that The Flicks exemplifies. Removed from the fancy and and glitzy one size fits all approach, The Flicks offers a tailored movie experience with ambience. And its selection of treats is wonderful not to mention its movie collection for rent.

Intimate with a lot of interesting alternatives in titles. Small theaters are cozy and the pop corn is always fresh!

The Flicks shows a variety of the latest high-quality independent films that may not be accessible elsewhere. It's a low-key, friendly place and you can even buy wine or beer to drink while you watch. They have great rice-krispy type treats and sandwiches, among other munchies! There's also the option to rent from a great selection of independent, international and obscure dvds.
The only drawback is that sometimes the small aisles/theatre rooms can be a bit claustrophobic if there's a crowd. Also, the films aren't advertised widely, so you have to check the website, the Boise Weekly free papers, etc. to find out what's upcoming. I've let some great films slip by because I wasn't pro-active about checking their offerings regularly.

I've been going to films here since I was 8 years-old. Always a good selection of foreign and independent films. Just as good is the food and atmosphere. From the films, the food, and the movie rentals, they give a good taste for the outside world: other cultures, other views.
As a teen and adult it was a regular place to go on a date. I proposed to my wife of 16 years here, too!
