This is a sister-company of Vegas Hot Air Sin City Balloon Rides. The view is quite different in Boise and the greenery, beltway, and trees were gorgeous.

We were picked up at a local supermarket and taken to the launch site a few miles away. This was good as we didn't have to trace down a launch site.. We watched as the crews prepared the balloons for launch which was interesting. Once launched our balloon first traveled over a wooded area where we could see wild turkeys - still interesting.. After that the flight became somewhat boring as we flew over the commercial area of a town at a low elevation. Winds took a second balloon off in a different direction so I can understand our pilot not wanting to take us any higher. Our pilot said they had never flown in the direction the second balloon was headed. We landed in a lot on the edge of town. I didn't time the trip but it seemed quite short. What occurred after landing is what led me to give a poor rating. We were required to wait on the crew to deflate and roll up the balloon and then store it in a bag. This is our third balloon flight and never before did we have to wait around while to balloon was stored. While waiting the pilot took a minute to give a well worn talk on celebrating balloon flights with a champagne drink. He then served champagne drinks to the customers and then quickly resumed his task of supervising the storing of the balloon.. In one of our prior flights we were taken back to the launch sight in vans where tables and chairs were set up with a champagne and cheese being offered. My feeling is Boise Hot Air Co needs to hire more employees and purchase more vans so they can promptly pick up customers upon landing and them transport them to a real champagne toast.

Scheduled for a Monday for 175 girls at camp..pilot sick (hey it happens)..owner said hed come from Vegas to do it another day.. he missed that day..then last day possible we reduced travel and hardship time (roads were windy and rocky) for the company at a better location..still charged us full price(after telling us they would reduce the price for less travel) and oh did I mention the balloon fuel ran out after they waited 3 hours to ride..two groups of girls who waited all week to go didnt get to even go up! It could have been an awesome time, but instead it was more dissapointing than anything. Dont like to be negative at all, but this was not the happy experience that wed wished for.

Response from Bruce P, General Manager at Boise Hot Air Company
Responded Jul 8, 2018
Dear Trevor P, The contact we were dealing with was Whittney Weber. But, In response to your review of our company. Yes pilots get sick, just like everyone else does. Weather also dictates the event, no matter how big or small and regardless of how many people are counting on it to take place. Especially if there's only a small window of time to work with. The hardship that you faced during your drive from Adrian, Oregon has nothing to do with our company. Best to put that on the person who decided to take that route back to Nyssa, Oregon. The only mention of reducing cost was if we arrived and weather would not permit the tether rides to take place. We did perform exactly what we set out to do. Six girls did not get a ride, we ran out of fuel, that is true. But do you have any clue why that happened? I'm guessing not. I will tell you, we had repeat riders, girls who went more than once. Again I think you might want to address that at the next Sunday service that you have. That wasn't our fault that some of the girls had no regard for there peers. I get that you don't understand about weather conditions and hot air balloons, most people don't. Were you there when the winds picked up? Did you come over to help? Nope, you sure didn't if you were there. We were there, the winds picked up making it dangerous for everyone. A tether is a controlled up and down ride, not side to side. Our priority was to keep everyone safe because that is our first responsibility, even if it means disappointing people. It's sad that you have been disappointed that over 150 girls did get to enjoy the tether ride. We stayed for Three and a half hours, that's One and a half hours longer than agreed to that we did NOT charge for. So you are welcome for our donation to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Nyssa, Oregon for $ 750.00. Being grateful is hard for some people Being humble is even harder Being " negative" as you claim you don't like to be, well that just comes easy for the ungrateful and those who know nothing about being humble.

I was so happy to celebrate my upcoming 60th birthday with Boise Hot Air Balloon!!! I have a fear of heights- but the friendly pilot & crew made me feel safe and secure! Right away I could see their professionalism. It was worth the trip from Long Island, New York! The gentle ride felt like a feather slowly floating! The views were amazing!!!

This was the first time I was in a hot air balloon and it was great. The staff was pleasant and courteous. It was awesome to watch the assembly of the balloon and its inflation. The ride was very smooth and even though we "came in fast" the landing wasn't bad. It was fun when the basket tipped forward on the landing. Helping put the balloon away was also a treat, I never thought I'd do that.
