Incredible pickin and strumming. Young and old performers well worth the $20 fee per person. The singers were magnificent.

Fun downhome experience. Friday night is very laid back, casual old country and gospel. Saturday night is more country - lots of folks dancing. It was great fun to watch. Some great dancers. Entertainers are not Nashville, but good. Would certainly go again when in the area and have recommended to others.

great place to dance with southern country music.
people in woodbine opry make you feel at home,
kind and welcoming.
Camden county is a small nice area. we ate
at Captain Stans smokehouse which is very close to
Opry and by the way the food and service was great.
so if you think of doing something different on a Saturday
go to Woodbine opry were you can also win raffles and some money.

The Woodbine, GA Opry, in Woodbine, GA is worth the thirty minute drive north from Jacksonville. Just 17 miles north of the state line, Woodbine shows you what the deep south was like fifty years ago. Volunteer musicians and singers, some with talent - some not so much, put on a free show, and you never know what you will get. Local attendees, mostly the older folk, dance in the isles with their spouses of 40, 50,, 60 years while the local sheriff plays a little guitar and sings one of his favorites. Bid on donated pies and cakes or participate in the 50 / 50 drawing, and you will have done your part to support the event. You won't ever forget your visit to Woodbine!

The kind folks of Woodbine Opry made us very welcome and treated us to homemade cakes in the cake raffle, a personal Happy Birthday with banjos and guitars and Founder Hoydt Drury also gave our birthday girl his own raffle prize–an Opry cap. All after a night of fantastic Bluegrass & Gospel music that brought a tear to your eye as you could feel the community warmth as 80 year old veterans shared the stage with teenagers. Young Jackson Bethune was breathtaking particularly on the Banjo which he tuned in and out as he played and will one day be famous. Our party were two adults and three youngsters , 21,20 and 17 yrs who were fully prepared to not enjoy it but in the end absolutely loved it and came out raving about the music and how nice the people were. Location is good just off the I95 so is perfect to combine on a day with other attractions such as Cumberland Island, Jekyll Island, Okefenokee , Southern Soul BBQ etc. 7:30pm start Friday and Saturday.
No entry fees, so please buy plenty of cake raffle tickets, it keeps the lights on and ... these Georgians can really bake.

We heard about this place from the Kingsland Information Center. This is held at the Woodbine Community Center. We went on a Saturday night which is Country music night. There was a local band that played a variety of old and some modern music. The band was made up of older men from the area. They were pretty good. This place is a small venue that seats about 200 people. Most of the people there were local seniors. They pass around a hat for donations which I think is extremely fair. We had a good time.

If you're in the mood for an early Friday or Saturday night out that's inexpensive, try driving to the small town of Woodbine GA, which took us 50-60 minutes straight up Rt. 17 from Fernandina Beach. On Friday nights there's bluegrass and gospel and on Saturdays it's old country music, played by retired musicians who volunteer their time and talents. We were fortunate enough to sit near a threesome about our age which whom we had a great time with laughter and conversation in addition to the live music. There's a little gift shop, snacks, raffle opportunities, photos, and passing the plate for a contribution, but you could attend this entire evening for free. I'll warn you that the crowd is nearly exclusively seniors, but there were a smattering of younger visitors in the audience. Many singles, both men and women, attend, and it seems to be a place for small groups of friends to meet and meet others if you're open to it. The venue is an old school that has been converted to the community center just off 17 in Woodbine. Seating is cushioned auditorium chairs and temperature was comfortable. Everybody was welcoming and friendly. We will go back!
