Visited the fort on a Saturday and it was quite busy, but the trails were wide open. The beach and facilities inside the park were a hum with activities. We walked the trail around the lake with stops at the aforementioned beach, the fort (of course) and dam. We also rented a paddle boat and took it for a loop... More

Adventure Cabins were great! They consist of two bedrooms and a living room and kitchen area combined. Living room area included a flat screen tv on the wall and a sofa couch. Bathroom was separated by a door, shower and toilet behind door and sink on outside. Bedrooms were spacious and included a closet, dresser, and a nightstand. Cabins included... More

The park was clean, but the playground is directly in the sun. No shade at all around the play area, which caused the slides to be extremely hot for small children.. My girls wanted to swing but there are none of those on the playground. Other than that all was good.

We love this park. The mountain trails are excellent. There's the other loop for beginners and casual rides. The more challenging inner trails will make for interesting riding. We take our kayaks often. They have two very useful boat ramps with small docks, one being in close proximity to the campground. The annual park pass is the best option, especially... More

Ft. Yargo is a great place to visit when you want to hike the trails, play in the beach area, picnic, or just let the kids at it on the playground. My boys love the beach in the summer. The water has enough shallow for them to have as much fun as they want without me stressing over their every... More

Had so much fun! Stayed in the yurt for three nights, a very welcoming and cozy place to be, might I add, and rented the canoes for Thursday. The yurt was sufficiently spacious and the foldout bed was very comfortable. The view from yurt three was amazing and canoeing was just perfect! We also swam in the closed off area... More

Great little piece of nature in Winder, GA. I was looking to fish from a kayak, but I was told that rentals weren't available... Oh well. Fished from the shore and only had a couple bites which was fine as I was trying to practice using my fly fishing outfit.

Fort Yargo State Park is really such an enjoyable place to stay and most of all, I appreciate the hospitality that Ms. Janice Coots has provided. Ms. Coots and the team has answered all questions and made me feel at home, giving a positive atmosphere to my perspective of the park. I really love the water views and the abundance... More

We go here a lot in the summer for the beach area. You only pay (approx) $5 per car per day to use the park or (approx) $50 for the year. There are bike & walking trails, fishing, a beach, putt putt, jungle gym, camping etc. We went for a walk early this year and it was really nice. I... More
