Other than it being very warm the first day, the yurt cooled off after a night of having the windows open. Actually had to have a blanket on during the nights and it was in the 90's during the day outside. The yurt will comfortably sleep 6. No cooking inside but can build campfire outside. There is a ceiling fan... More

In town for work and easily bored... Discovered this park. I truly believe that if you like being outdoors, then this Georgia State Park will not disappoint you. Loaded up with mountain bike trails, hiking trails, a decent lake, boat rentals, swimming, fishing...Plenty of space for large group events... I bought the Georgia Park Pass and with that you can... I used the RV dump station about 8 times from December 2015 through May of 2016. The fun things we have done are to ride our tandem mountain bike through the easier set of mountain bike trails they have at this park. (There is a more challenging single track route but the ascents & descents were too steep for us... More

Drove through one Saturday afternoon. Plenty of things to do. Lots of history. Plenty of room. Ride your bike, jog, swim. It's all there.

Took five of my nine grand children to the park this week while their mothers were back in school...both are school teachers. Hiked a short trail and then took then swimming at the beach. The beach has a wide sandy area and a nice swimming hole with a slight slope to deep water. The kids - ages 15 to10 -... More

Visited the fort on a Saturday and it was quite busy, but the trails were wide open. The beach and facilities inside the park were a hum with activities. We walked the trail around the lake with stops at the aforementioned beach, the fort (of course) and dam. We also rented a paddle boat and took it for a loop... More

Adventure Cabins were great! They consist of two bedrooms and a living room and kitchen area combined. Living room area included a flat screen tv on the wall and a sofa couch. Bathroom was separated by a door, shower and toilet behind door and sink on outside. Bedrooms were spacious and included a closet, dresser, and a nightstand. Cabins included... More

The park was clean, but the playground is directly in the sun. No shade at all around the play area, which caused the slides to be extremely hot for small children.. My girls wanted to swing but there are none of those on the playground. Other than that all was good.

We love this park. The mountain trails are excellent. There's the other loop for beginners and casual rides. The more challenging inner trails will make for interesting riding. We take our kayaks often. They have two very useful boat ramps with small docks, one being in close proximity to the campground. The annual park pass is the best option, especially... More

Great park close to home. Lots of space, well maintained. Great for groups too! Hiking trails, swimming, camping, canoeing, playgrounds...love it!
