This is an absolutely beautiful park. I came here on my first camping and hiking experience and it has been amazing. The park is huge and very clean and quiet. The park host was always available for us to buy firewood ($5 for 12 pieces). Clean camp sites, plenty available at 25$/night. The walking/hiking trails were so long and had... More

my wife and i spend a lovely Sunday afternoon walking the "inner loop/yellow" trail with our two dogs - a 1.5 year German Shepherd and A 10 year old Yellow Lab - we all had a great time! the inner loop trail is approx 7.5 miles long - has a very wide range of views. the north end was our... More

This park charges $5 per car but there was nobody at the gate the day we went. They have beautiful trails to walk through, a floating dock for putting in a row boat, a bridge the crosses over onto an island where you can fish.

First time to FYSP and had an excellent experience. Want to reserve a Yurt, but they were sold-out the week(s) we planned to visit. The Ranger suggested we try the Adventure Cabins. Great choice! The ACs were still in new condition and well maintained. Two bedroom, one bath with a full kitchen and large great room. Screened in porch with... More

We only visited the fishing area of the park. Plenty of room for bank fishing. Easy paths & terrain to get to the bank. Several picnics tables available & plenty of parking. Fish were biting.

There is heavy traffic and trains running all night long and you will hear everyone of them. Good luck on getting any sleep if you are camping. There are amenities galore, every sort of fast food restaurant imaginable within a few minutes drive so you will not go hungry but as a place to get away from it all, forget... More

First time camping at this park, we camped in the #2 campground which has a lot of wooded sites, campground #1 has a lot of lake side sites. The park has putt putt golf($5.00), a nice lake, that offers boat rentals, several picnic areas, historic fort, which the park is named after.

We just returned from Fort Yargo and had an excellent time! We cannot wait to go back next year! We rented a canoe ($10) and floated around on the lake all day! We found the beach and hung out there on the sand while our 2 boys swam. Yes, swam in October! Every yurt is on the water, but yurt... More

Yurt! if you haven't camped in a yurt -it's a must - the "tent" and furniture are waiting your arrival, bring your food, linens and utensils and camp in a bit fancy fashion. the tiny peninsula the yurt village is set on is quiet and beautiful. Fort Yargo is a best kept secret in our state. Lovely walking trails, fish... More

This park has yurts, cabins, RV hookups, and primitive camping available. Large, stocked lake, many hiking, biking and equestrian trails. We frequently go out the to kayak on the lake. $5 per vehicle entrance fee is very reasonable.
